"Light Yagami is missing?! How could you let this happen, I told you- ugh, just go find him" Daiki was frustrated. He groaned as soon as he heard that the patient I was assigned to is nowhere in the hospital.
I'm worried..he goes missing the moment I tell him how he got amnesia? I knew it was a bad idea. I can't believe I let him convince me so easily like a fool.
"Calm down, Y/N. He probably just took a walk outside-"
"He's not outside, I already checked. Hara, what do I do? I'm so screwed" I panicked, fidgeting all over the place.
"We're going to find him, alright? Just take a deep breath" Hara gently wrapped her arms around me in an attempt to calm me down. Just as I was about to lose it, my peripheral vision catches a shadow of a tall man, slowly entering the hospital, I raised my head from the hug to see who it was and to my surprise, it was Light.
"Light! Where have you been?" I paused a little before running to him. "Sorry, I mean, sir..I was just worried, forgive me. Where exactly did you go?" I asked while checking if he had any wounds or scratches on his body, inspecting his hospital clothes for any of the telltale signs.
"Sorry for making you worry.." He spoke in a low voice. "You left the television on and.."
He's having trouble explaining himself, he's stuttering and not making eye contact.. what exactly happened to the short time I was gone?
"The name Kira was mentioned a lot and every time they said it, I heard a loud ringing in my ears, making me dizzy and my eyes.. it was so blurry, I couldn't see very well" He continued explaining, trying to make me understand the events that transpired.
"Okay, maybe it's a trigger? Did you remember anything or recall a memory?"
He paused to think, clutching his hair and closing his eyes in concentration.
"No..but the ringing was so loud and the name Kira was being repeated in my head, I just had to get out of there. I didn't realize that I was a little far from the hospital already, I'm sorry" He looked at me with cute puppy eyes, he seemed genuinely confused and apologetic.
"It's okay. I'm just glad you're alright. We'll talk about this more in your room, okay? Will you wait for me there, I just have to talk to doc Daiki"
"I guess you're in hot water with him because of me, hm? You know, I could talk to him and explain that it wasn't y-"
"No, I got it, thank you. You're my patient, it was my responsibility. Go back to room 104, sir. I'll be right with you" I smiled softly with my arm up and my palm pointing to his room.
...
"This is why I told you not to share it with him, Y/N. I can't believe you didn't listen to me, but hey, why am I not surprised?" He really didn't hold back when it came to expressing his anger and frustrations.
"I'm sorry. I will accept any form of consequences for my actions, I shouldn't have done that" sincerely apologized though a little part of me didn't regret the fact that I told Light about what happened to him.
Doc Daiki couldn't really come up with a way to properly convey his thoughts, he just sighed and walked away after reminding me to just follow his orders. I'm willing to bet that he's too tired to give me a lecture today..
I slowly walked towards Light's room, peeking through the glass pane of his door before entering. He was sitting up on his bed, looking outside the window.
"Sir, sorry it took so long. How are you feeling?"
"Better, the migraine stopped and I can breathe easier" He responded with a little smile until he noticed my composure and the expression I had on my face.
"You seem anxious and stressed. It's probably because of me, no? Can I do anything right now to make it up to you?" He rested his chin on his fist as he flashed a smile cuter than most of the things I have seen.
"Hmm, well, you could tell me more about that reaction you had from the mention of Kira. I'm just curious to hear about it, maybe it's the key to remembering your memories?"
"Maybe..but I thought about it a lot and I just don't see why hearing Kira from the television which you left turned on this morning triggered me in any way, I don't even know who he is"
"No one does.. wait, so did the previous nurse always keep it off?"
"Yeah, it's my first time watching news in this hospital"
Huh.. so hearing Kira's name for the first time caused a painful migraine and repetitive mention in his mind, I wonder how they're related to each other..
