"So, what do you have in store for me, Light? I'm not going to lie, I'm a little thrilled to hear how you plan on getting rid of Riku without getting RID of Riku" Ryuk chuckled with exaggerating volume.
"I plan to fake the death of Doc Daiki and make it public"
"What? That means telling him everything so we can get him to cooperate, right?" I asked, a little confused with the execution he's planning.
"Right. But telling him would be like killing two birds with one stone. We get to protect him and we-" Light abruptly stopped which alarmed me enough to immediately get off my seat. He was not okay.
"Light, what's happening, your idea is a bit unlike you and your face is heating ..your face is really warm, no..no, this can't be, why is your fever back, I thought you were-" Light didn't let me spiral any further. He kissed me right before completely losing it.
"Y/n, I'm fine.." He pulled away, his eyes had this reflection of misery, mixed with agony.
"You're obviously not. I think your brain has finally reached its limits. Give it some rest, you shouldn't pushing it this hard, I mean, everything you did so far is way beyond what an amnesiac person can do" I firmly told him as I gently checked on his wound.
"..." Light couldn't reply. He knows I'm right but he's a little hesitant to rest in this critical moment. "I understand that you're concerned for me, y/n.. and I believe that everything you're saying is right but I just can't stop now, especially since someone is out there who knows my true identity"
"I figured you might say that" I sighed.
I knew our first disagreement was bound to come eventually, but it's hard to argue with someone who used to be my patient. I honestly saw this fight coming; me as his nurse, trying to care for his physical and mental wellbeing while he attempts to carry out his deadly ideals.
Should I really be doing this? I just feel like I'm in way over my head.
"You're not..breaking up with me, are you?" Light looked up at my eyes as he gently tilts my chin up to face him.
How can I possibly walk away from you now.. for every crime and scheme, I've committed to staying by your side through all of those. There's no turning back, no.
"No, I'm not, Light" I slowly smiled, bringing his hand to my cheek. "But I just wish you'd listen to me, I'm only looking out for you"
"I know.." He sighs before pulling me to a tight hug "I'll listen. I'm sorry"
I couldn't express how relieved I felt after hearing him say those words.
"Thank you Light. You have no idea how happy this makes me, I'm even willing to be another kira just for you" I laughed, passing it as a joke. Of course, I could actually never do that, hopefully he doesn't take that into account.
"I love you y/n, I wouldn't do anything you wouldn't want me to"
