Love, Hate and Death (Light Yagami x Reader)

CH 21 HIGH FEVER

"That's not permissible. You can get in danger if they find me in your apartment, it's better for me to stay here" 

"are you not listening? If this goes on, your temperature will increase. worse comes to worse, you wound opens up and you'll bleed while I'm not here. I would never forgive myself if that happ-

"y/n" Light leaned in and kissed me as an attempt to stop me from spiraling. His lips were warm and surprisingly still soft, he pulled away from the moment I paused from talking. 

That really snapped me out of it..

now I need to find a way to convince Light just like I did back with Emi..something that will truly get to him somehow.

And I know exactly what it is. 

"..Kira has killed more than 30 teenagers yesterday. I know how much that angers you. And if you really want to do something about it, you have to be in the best condition. You obviously won't be able to get the notebook if you're dead, right? So why don't you listen to me for once and stop going against it!"

...

"You're right, I'm sorry...thanks for enlightening me with that, I'm only worried about your safety, getting involved in this could endanger your career and of course, you"

"I know, okay? You think if someone else heard about this crazy death note, they wouldn't send you right to a psychiatric clinic? I am with you, for every plan and crazy games I don't even realize we're playing, I will be fine" 

"got it, I trust that you would, I'm sure you know that I won't ever forgive you if you leave me" He smiles, trying his hardest to stop shivering. 

Cute..

"So, what's with all the kissing, huh? You really think it'll solve every problem thrown at us?" I sat down beside him while folding his clothes and placing them in a bag. 

"Well, it gets the job done, does it? And I don't think you hate it at all" He quickly replied with a smirk. 

"There is nothing to hate.. but we have to talk about this eventually..just not right now. I don't even think I have the words to describe whatever this is" I got up and arranged all his other possessions; and it was really easy. He didn't have much on him, considering that he was a runaway patient.

"The same goes for me, I'm still trying to figure out who I really am but there is one thing I'm sure of.." He slowly gets up as I assist him. "I'm sure that I'll be able to take the notebook, I'm positive" 

He's really confident, huh

"I'm impressed that you still managed to look cool while your whole arm is around me because you can't even stand on your own" I chuckled as I help him walk over to the warehouse doors. 

"I guess it's just how I'm programmed" He cracks a little joke, breathing heavily as his cheeks turn red, mostly from the fever. 

"My apartment's a little far so you can take a nap while I drive. Here, drink this" I gave him a pill  that I keep in my glove box for emergencies. "This should lessen your headache and help with the pain" He took it along with the water stored in the cup holders. As I watched him gulp down the medicine I gave him, I couldn't help but worry. 

Am I way over my head about this whole thing? Now that Light is on my passenger seat, my palms are sweating and my heart is beating faster than it should be. I barely even know him and now I'm risking a lot of things just for him.. I must be crazy. 

"You're nervous, aren't you? Don't be. Once you start driving, you'll feel better, trust me" He tries to bring a smile to his face but his whole body felt like it was about to shut down; he was trembling and his skin was paler than earlier. 

"Okay, yeah. It'll be fine.. as long as I'm with you" I deeply exhaled, both my hands on the steering wheel as I turned my head to see Light, peacefully asleep after his body gave up on him.

"Sleep tight, give your body the rest it desperately needs"
