Love, Hate and Death (Light Yagami x Reader)

CH 16 PLAN

Kira.. death note.. 

these things I've shifted my focus on for the past month are still surreal to me, a small part of me just can't comprehend the information Light was continuously giving. 

"So, this warehouse is in your name?" I sat down beside him, on dusty brown boxes that looked old and used. 

"No.. to be honest, I don't know anything about this place or how to get here. I just kept having memory triggers and new letters would pop up each day so I wrote them down and well, it led me here.." 

"That's so fascinating, the way your mind works. It seems as if it's protecting you without your knowledge" 

"Maybe, I wonder if I really put it to work just like my dad told me" He chuckled softly while looking up at the industrial fan in the walls. 

"Probably, rumors say that you're quite the genius" I teased. 

"Oh please, what use is a genius who doesn't remember who he used to be" 

"Don't talk like that, idiot.  You're recovering memories faster than regular amnesiac patients, I've never even handled someone with a strong mental capability like you" 

"Tsk, stop it. You know how weak I am when it comes to you.." Light slowly looks from the fans to me, not breaking eye contact. His genuine smile was contagious. 

I felt my face heat up, probably blushing like crazy

"Shut up, Light" I got up from the grubby boxes and dusted my pants off. "So, what's your plan? How are you going to get the uh.."

"death note..y/n. Remember when doc Daiki's brother entered my room? We are going to frame him for taking me. The police will search his house, properties, everything and they might not find me but they'll find the death note" 

As I watch Light talk about his plans, I felt amazed, he was truly tantalizing beyond explanation. 

"And I assume that you're going to leave it to the police?"

"What? No. I'm taking the notebook. If I know any better, it's the key to remembering who I am and why someone shot me in the first place. Do you not want to help me recall my memories..?" 

I sighed, then I scoffed. I knew how dangerous it all was, but he's my patient. I'm not forgetting the duty I have here. 

"Alright then, I guess you won't be coming back to the hospital for a while. Are going to stay here?" I asked, my mind's attention slightly drifting away, trying to think of a possible explanation to my bosses about Light's disappearance. 

"I really have nowhere else to go.. I can't let a a guy like him possess such power to bring evil to the world. If I return, it derails my plan, I'm sorry, y/n"

He must really care a lot about the sake of the people, hm. Is this what it really is like for all geniuses? An intellectual such as him, shot by a gun and pushed off a building causing him to forget who he was and somehow still possess a strong belief for justice.. who wouldn't be intrigued by this?

"Fine, and I'll help you achieve that, alright? But you must promise that you'll never make me worry again, during the time you were gone, I felt my world fall apart"

"Because you missed me so much?"

"No, idiot. I almost got fired because of you. I know I never appreciated my job but there's really nothing else in store for me if I quit or get fired" 

"I wouldn't allow that. I left a good word for you back there, there was no way they would fire you after all the praise and positive feedback you got from me" He chuckled, almost showing off. For that, I wanted to punch him but.. 

"Thanks. You didn't really have to, I deserve it if it ever happened, anyway" I sighed. "I'm going back and informing Doc Daiki about his brother and try to get him framed. During my breaks, I'll come here and treat your wound, alright?" 

"Yes, ma'am. I'm not going anywhere, I promise you that" He smiled, his eyes lit up as he stood up and gave me a warm hug. "Thank you, I would be nothing without you" He whispered as he hugged me tighter.

There it is again, the overwhelming praise and dependence. He makes me think that he's under my control but actually, he has me in the palm of his hands.. 

and honestly..

"I know. You're quite lucky" 

I don't mind it.
