Yesterday was something I've been replaying in my head over and over. I still can't believe that Light.. no, Kira was able to confess something like that. It was shocking but far from overwhelming; makes me wonder just what goes on in that brain of his.
"If I'm going to resurface, it would be accompanied with..pizzaz"
"pizzaz? That's a word I never thought I would hear come out of your mouth" I chuckled at his statement.
"Well, I did cause way too much trouble for the hospital and other people, it would be best to show up and have the news spread right away to avoid any more inconvenience"
"Okay then, so what's your plan?" I sat down on the sofa, letting my body plop down on the comfortable cushion.
"Since we have no idea where Riku might be hiding, we're going to lure him into coming to us using my father, the chief"
"Wow, that's real shameless of you Light considering the fact that he's still rattled with the news that you're missing"
"I know but isn't it a little crazy that he still hasn't found me? Talk about being bad at your job" Light chuckles lightly while shaking his head.
"Isn't it a hundred percent better for you if he actually didn't put in effort in finding you? If he sees you in my apartment, everything could just fall apart, you know"
"Yeah, I..I know" He walks over to the couch where I was sitting and rests his whole body as he lays beside me.
"And? What's next, you clever boy" I asked, ruffling through his hair.
"Once the news that I am found has spread, eventually, Riku would have to follow the location I'm rumored to be in"
"Alright. Delicate and subtle"
"But of course, we have to get to him before he reveals my identity..after all, he knows who Kira is"
Light, you know I am not your ally nor enemy, right?" The shinigami spoke, his voice was incredibly shrill and cold at the same time.
"Of course, ryuk. You've reminded me many times"
"But I am a little curious to see what happens if your identity is exposed. I won't do anything but that would certainly be amusing to see" Ryuk cackles, crossing his legs as he floats mid-air.
"Well, you'll have to forget that pipe dream because I am never going to get caught" Light puts on a cocky smile.
"You still got to be careful, there's no saying since you're clearly on thin ice with this whole situation. What if Riku exposes you right before you find him?"
"Trust me y/n darling, he won't"
"How can you be so sure?"
"Because there's nothing to gain from that. We both know what he wants"
And at that exact moment, we locked eyes.
"To kill doc Daiki.." I whispered, avoiding eye contact. "What are you saying, Light, are you going to offer to kill Doc Daiki just so you can shut him up?" I asked as my voice trembled a little.
"I gotta say, that's pretty clever. That Riku guy is too much of a coward to kill his brother and you doing it would definitely make him leave you alone for good. Also he is such a snoozefest! Can't even bother to talk to me" Ryuk states in an annoyed tone.
"No, no, you can't do that, Light. Doc Daiki is an innocent person. Yes, given that he could be a jerk sometimes, you can't kill him just bec-
"y/n.." Light walks over to me, gently placing both his hands on my shoulders, calming me down instantly. "I won't do that. I won't do something so vile"
"Okay" I replied, sighing from relief afterwards. "Then what are you proposing?"
