[Kira has stopped killing once again after going on what the media calls as an "evil purge". Citizens are starting to wonder if he has taken yet another break from horribly executing criminals and innocent people all over the world]
"Stop watching while the car's moving. I don't have a plastic bag for when you hurl" I firmly told Light who was watching the news on his phone after waking up several minutes ago.
So kira stopped killing huh, the timing is a little suspicious especially since the police started to suspect Doc Daiki's brother.. could it be a coincidence? or does he know that we're unto him..?
"I've never..hurled in my entire life. But sure, I'll put the phone down" He replies, gently placing his phone in the car tray. "I didn't realize how far you apartment really was, I feel like I should be paying for gas for all those trips to the warehouse" He chuckled, keeping his eyes on the road.
"Well, I barely go home anyway. We have dorms for nurses in our hospital which they recommend we use so I'm only home during the weekends"
"That must be tiring. For someone who dislikes her job, you sure do work really hard"
"Well, what other choice do I have, right? Besides, it's not all bad; every now and then, the vending machine breaks so I get an extra biscuit when I buy chips" I smiled and sighed quietly as I continued to drive, making a few glances to my side.
"I'm guessing there's a reason for your animosity towards the hospital..could it be a horrible memory?" He asked while looking at me, his eyes was watery due to his fever.
"No..nothing like that, I guess it's one of the things that doesn't really have an answer. I just don't feel at home there which is funny since I sleep and eat in that very hospital" I responded, turning the temperature of the ac down. "We're almost there..do you feel any better after drinking that medicine and taking a nap?"
"I do. My face feels less hot, thanks to that" He cupped his cheeks, feeling his skin.
How adorable..
"We're here. Are you able to get up?" I asked before turning the engine off and unfastening his seatbelt.
"Yes, my head has stopped spinning so you can stop treating me like a baby" He stifled a quiet laughter, almost falling to the ground after trying to get up.
"Hm, I guess you're still quite the baby. One second without my help and you almost had your face fall to the ground" I hurriedly crouched and placed his arm around my shoulder after chuckling at the sight.
"Oh, I did it on purpose because I know how much you love taking care of me" He mischievously added, with a wink.
"You're really in no position to flirt with me, Light. Your skin feels like my stove when I cook" I replied while getting in the elevator with his weight on me. It wasn't a rare occasion that I would have his whole body mass dependent on me; these moments made me feel needed. He was right on the money, I loved taking care of him.
"Take off your shoes and wear these slippers. If they don't fit, I have an extra fluffy one in the cabinets" I unlocked the door of my apartment, walking in with him. "Lie down on the sofa, I'll get the medicine for your fever"
If his fever doesn't go down soon, I don't have any choice but to bring him to the hospital but something tells me, that he would immediately reject the idea..
"Cute apartment, it looks neat and cozy despite it being empty five days a week" He said as he laid down on my sofa-bed. Light looked exhausted and really ill, the view breaks my heart a little every time I see it.
"Well, thanks. It's been so long since I've been here on a weekday. If you never became my patient, that wouldn't even be possible" I chuckled a little, walking towards him with his medicine and cold towel in my hand. "This will feel a bit cold but I need you to endure it" I gently placed it on his head.
"I suffered a gunshot wound and a fall, I think I can handle a little col- Aah! Jeez, that's cold. Did you dip it in ice?" Light flinched at the sensation.
"You-" I couldn't hold my laughter. "Sorry, Light. Did that scare you?" I teased him, clearly enjoying the way he reacts differently to things I do.
"Tsk, I'll have to get back at you for that.. when I don't look like a blushing bride anymore" He smiles as he grips tightly on my jacket.
"Drink this and this. I'm also making you soup so you won't be eating anything else other than what I cook. You also shouldn't move that shoulder around too much, if you need anything, just tell me, and als-" Light interrupted me by kissing my lips once again, this time, using his tongue; it was hot and sloppy. He didn't want to pull away.
"L-light" I gently pushed him before looking straight into his eyes, he was teary-eyed and a bright red color was painted all over his cheeks.
"I'm sorry..I feel cold and hot at the same time but you feel just the right temperature so I couldn't help myself" He looked down and fiddled with his fingers. "I should probably stop, I wouldn't want to infect you with this possibly contagious sickness"
We already did it multiple times, what's another going to do..?
"I don't care" I rashly pulled him for another kiss, not letting go.
