It's been a couple of weeks since the incident and Demi has been slowly getting better. She has been given time off to heal and was told that she could come back whenever she was ready. Almost all of mine and Demi's close friends were made aware of the incident. They have been so supportive and have been helping with her recovery in some way. She is now at the point where she feels comfortable enough to leave to house; even if it is just to accompany me to the grocery store. I am proud of her journey so far but I have started to think that she needs to get away from Orlando for a little while. I know she called her parents and told them what happened because I suggested that she did but I also think that she should go and visit them.

Demi was currently finishing up with a workout in the gym room while I started to make lunch for us, Tyra was at school so I was only making enough for two people. When I was about halfway done, Demi entered the room and filled a glass with water; chugging the whole glass within seconds. She swilled out the glass, placing it on the draining board and went upstairs to shower. As I was finishing up, she re-entered the room and came behind me; wrapping her arms around my waist and resting her chin on my shoulder, "Feel a bit better after your shower." I say and she nods. "Well, lunch is now ready so lets go sit and eat while it's still warm." I said, handing her a plate and leading her to the dining table.

After a few minutes of eating, I decided to tell her about my idea for her to go visit her parents. "So, I've been thinking." I start as I look down at my plate, "You've been doing really good the past couple weeks but I... I think you should visit your parents for a while. Get away from Orlando." I finish and glance over at Demi. She don't react at first but then she starts nodding slowly, "Y-yeah, m-maybe your right." she says quietly. I place a hand on her arm gently and rub my thumb over it, "I'm not suggesting this to get rid of you either if that's what you're thinking, I just want you to feel better." I say as I could that's what she was thinking. She only nods in response with her head down. We had just finished our food so I got out of my seat and stood by her side, wrapping my arms around her shoulders as she wrapped her arms around my waist.

As the afternoon went on, I had a few errands to run so I left not long after lunch while Demi stayed home with Barry and Luna. When Tyra arrived home, the three of us sat in the living room and watched a bunch of movies; I order take-out for dinner. 8:30pm rolled around and Demi said she was going to call her parents, I nodded and told her if she needed anything to shout; she nodded and walked up to my - or should I say, our room.

I sent Tyra off to bed at 9pm because she had school tomorrow and as she left, Demi walked back in. She sat down next to me and curled up into my side, "My parents are happy with me going over to visit for a couple of weeks and I want too but what about the dogs?" she says. I wrap my arms around her and look down, "Don't worry about the dogs, they can stay here with me and Tyra. We will look after them while you're away." I told her with a smile and gently swept my thumb over her check.

She nodded and sat up, pulling her laptop onto her lap from the coffee table. She booked a hotel for two weeks and two plane tickets, one to Adelaide and one back to Orlando. Once confirmed, she texted her parents the information and shut off her laptop; placing it back on the coffee table. "I'm going to pack everything tomorrow morning but right now, I'm gunna go to bed. Coming?" She asks, offering me a hand as she stands. I smile as I grab hold of it and stand up myself, following her up to our room. We change into some pyjamas and slide into bed, I pull her to me and she curls up next to me; resting her head on my chest. After a few moments, I hear soft snores coming from Demi and that's how I know she's fast asleep. I fall into a deep, dreamless sleep moments later.
