"Enzo I'm so happy you're back" Y/n smiles at him.

"It's good to be back" Enzo responds smirking.

Damon groans rolling his eyes glaring at Enzo.

"What's wrong old friend not happy to see me?" Enzo asks Damon smirking.

"Why are you here?" Damon asks Enzo glaring at him.

"For Y/n" Enzo says smiling at her.

"You hate humans why her?" Damon asks glaring at Enzo.

"I found her in the forest singing and I approached her planning on feeding from her but she talked to me and I decided to leave her be" Enzo says smiling at her adoringly.

"I didn't know you were going to feed off of me at the time or I wouldn't have offered you tea" she shrugs with a laugh.

"Yes that was before finding out about vampires" Enzo says smirking.

"One conversation a cup of tea later and I couldn't hurt her now I try to protect her" Enzo says smiling.

Y/n goes up to Enzo and hugs him tightly.

"What's this for?" Enzo questions the hug.

"Because I missed you and I haven't heard from you in a year" she says with tears in her eyes.

"Hey it's ok little one I'm not leaving again" Enzo says calmly to her tightening his grip on her.

Damon watches them with jealousy but also feeling bad for Y/n and how worried she was of Enzo.

"Are you two a thing or something?" Damon asks rolling his eyes.

"No she's my closest friend" Enzo scoffs at Damon's obvious jealousy and lets go of her.

"Yeah he's the one person who was there when I was alone" she says smiling at Enzo.

"You have to stay, you can stay with me or at the Gilbert's house, just don't leave again" she says nervously.

"You have lots of houses" Enzo says laughing.

"Yeah for the time being" she nods with a sigh.

"I'm sorry about Jenna I know how close you were with her" Enzo says with a comforting smile.

"Thanks Enzo" she smiles at Enzo.

"He can't stay" Damon tells her glaring at Enzo.

"Damon" she looks over at him shocked and angry.

"No Sunshine he can't stay" Damon says more strictly.

"Sunshine?" Enzo questions.

"Yeah that's what Damon calls me" she tells him nervously.

"I understand it suits you" Enzo nods smiling down at her.

"Thanks" she blushes from the compliment and looks back over to Damon with doe eyes silently asking for him to reconsider letting Enzo stay.

Damon walks away inside the cabin frustrated with Enzo's appearance there.

"Enzo I'll be right back" she sighs looking at where Damon walked to.

"Ok Dear I'll be here" Enzo says smiling.

She walks into the cabin to see Damon drinking pacing in the living room of the cabin deep in thought.

"Damon?" she asks coming closer to him.

"I want him to stay" she speaks up louder to get her point across.

"He was all I had at one point" she tells him sighing sadly.

"Sunshine I know Enzo and how he is and the things he's done" Damon calmly tells her looking over at her.

"I know what he's done and how he can be but he's my friend" she nods smiling sadly.

"I believe in second chances just like I did for you because I know that deep down you have feelings" she says looking at him with a sincere look.

"Sunshine-"Damon starts but is cut off.

"I was told by everybody that people can't change especially vampires but you were people first and people feel and make mistakes just like vampires" she tells him looking up at him smiling.

"Even if your heart isn't beating anymore there was one beating before" she smiles at him gently.

He looks down at her with a look she can't decipher. She looks back at him confused.
She looks down nervously because of the silence and his continuing stare.
He looks down at her with a small smile on his face and chuckles.

"What?" she asks looking up at Damon confused.

"You're too good" Damon smirks at her.

"Everyone has some good in them" she smiles with a shrug.

"Even me?" Damon asks looking into her eyes.

"Even you" she nods looking into Damon's eyes.

Damon leans in closer to her putting his hand carefully on her cheek looking into her eyes as she leans into his touch looking into his eyes.

"Hey Dear where are you?" Enzo calls out from the cabin.

She pulls away from Damon looking away nervously.
He sighs quietly pulling his hand and head away.

"In here Enzo" she calls back stepping away from Damon avoiding his eyes.

"I've decided to stay" Enzo says smiling at her.

"Really?" she asks hopeful.

"Yeah I can't leave you again" Enzo says laughing.

She runs into Enzo's arms hugging him tightly.

"Thank you" she says to Enzo letting him go.

Damon sighs quietly seeing Enzo hugging the only girl he's ever cared this much about. His jaw tightens seeing his arms wrapped around her waist and looking down at her with such adoration.
