Drunken Fun

It's close to 10pm as Y/n walks down the streets towards Caroline's when she feels like someone's watching her, getting an uneasy feeling she picks up her pace knowing that everyone has warned her not to walk alone at night.

In the distance Damon watches her walk away and he turns around vanishing back to the Manor finally coming down from his moment of weakness and concern for his ex girlfriend.

Y/n walks to Caroline's front door and knocks waiting for her friend to open the door.
Caroline opens the door with a big smile on her face and lunges forward wrapping her arms around Y/n tightly.

"Ugh it's so good to see you, it feels like it's been forever" Caroline dramatically exclaims.

"I know I'm sorry for not being around more" Y/n apologizes letting go of her.

Caroline grabs her hand pulling her to the couch and the two flop down as Caroline looks towards her with a knowing smirk.

"What's that look?" Y/n looks at her confused.

"Matt huh?" Caroline smirks wider with a knowing look.

Y/n's face turns red as she looks closely at Caroline confused how she knows about her and Matt's secret relationship.

"How did you-?" Y/n trails off growing more confused.

"Matt let it slip" Caroline admits with an apologetic smile.

"Which means you talked it out of him?" Y/n shakes her head with a short laugh.

"Yeah" Caroline nods with a big smile.

"Are you mad?" Y/n asks nervously.

"Mad? No not at all I get it he's great and Y/n me and Matt dated years ago" Caroline assures.

"Are you sure?" Y/n asks unsure.

"Yes I'm one hundred percent sure" Caroline nods with a gentle smile.

"Okay" Y/n nods feeling less nervous.

"So how long?" Caroline asks eagerly.

"A few weeks, but it's not a boyfriend girlfriend relationship it's a friends with benefits relationship"
Y/n explains watching her best friend's eyes widen.

"Wait seriously?" Caroline asks excitedly.

"Yes" Y/n nods bashfully.

"I never thought I'd see the day when my sweet innocent best friend was just sleeping with someone" Caroline's smile widens as she laughs.

"Care!" Y/n throws a pillow at her feeling embarrassed.

"Oh come on it's amazing!" Caroline laughs throwing the pillow back.

The two break out into loud laughter as they sit on the couch with their legs wrapped together.

"But seriously are you okay?" Caroline asks more seriously.

"I'm fine Care really, I feel way better than I did before especially with Matt helping out" Y/n smiles squeezing her hand assuring her.

"Yeah he's helping out" Caroline winks suggestively and laughs.

"Care! I didn't mean like that" Y/n laughs slapping her friend's hand.

"I know, I know I'm glad he can help" Caroline calms down smiling at her.

An hour later the two girls are one bottle in on hard liquor as they dance around the living room to girly pop songs blasting through the speakers.

Caroline grabs Y/n's hand spinning her around stumbling slightly.
The two girls scream the lyrics stumbling over their feet dancing to the loud music thats beating off of the walls.

The two girls too focused on the music that's too loud to hear anything but the lyrics and loud beat drown out the knocks that's on the front door.

Matt peeks his head in the door covering his ears at the loud music and walks further into the house holding back a laugh when he sees the two girls dancing on top of the couch singing the song lyrics loudly.

Y/n's eyes widen when she notices Matt standing a few feet away with a big grin stretched across his face.
She hops off the couch walking over to him grabbing his hands and swinging them to dance with her.

She pulls him forward burring her head in his chest as the music slows down to a slower song. Caroline watches from the couch with a big smile at how happy the two look wrapped in one another's arms.

"Hey Mattie" Y/n smiles up at the man with her chin on his chest.

"Hey Sweetheart" he smiles and kisses her head.

"Me and Caroline are having fun" she smiles up at him drunkenly.

"Yeah? That's good I'm happy you're having fun but it's probably time to head out" he smiles down at her.

"Okay I'm just gonna tell Caroline" she nods walking over to Caroline.

Matt shakes his head with a chuckle and walks over to the speaker turning it off when he sees how tired Caroline looks as she's leaned on Y/n hugging her lazily.

Y/n grabs Caroline's arms and wraps them around herself pulling her friend to her bedroom where she lays her down in the bed tucking her in and grabs the garbage can putting it near her bed.

She leaves her friend's room and walks over wrapping her arms around Matt's waist groaning into his chest tiredly.

"I should stay to make sure she's okay" she mumbles against his chest.

"Okay I'll stay with you, I don't want to leave you two alone" he nods tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.

"Okay" she nods leaning her head back onto his chest.

Feeling her head get heavy against his chest Matt leans down grabbing onto her legs and back as he pulls her up into his arms carrying her bridal style. She nudges her head into his neck muffling sleepily into his neck. He smiles softly and places her onto the guest room bed pulling the blanket over her before leaning down to kiss her head. He grabs a large bowl from the kitchen just in case she has to get sick during the night.

He takes his socks and shirt off lying down next to her in the cold bed sighing tiredly as he runs a hand over his face exhausted from the long day at work he's had.
His exhausted expression turns into a small smile when he looks down seeing Y/n tucked into his chest with her hair sprawled out across his bare chest.

He leans down kissing her head before closing his eyes to hopefully get the much needed rest.
