The Truth

Y/n laid awake in bed in the cabin thinking about the events that happened including Enzo coming back and Damon almost kissing her.

She can't sleep so she gets out of bed and sneaks outside into the cool air smiling as the wind hits her face sending a cool feeling tickling her skin.

She sits reading her book with a dim outdoor light illuminating behind her making a shadow cast on the outside wall of the cabin showing her reading her book and making flowers grow around where she's sitting on the grass.

Damon looks outside from the living room because of the light outside to see her reading happily singing a song quietly making flowers grow around her.
Damon smiles to himself at how angelic she looks in the moments she doesn't think anyone is watching or paying attention.

"You like her don't you?"

Damon looks behind him to see Enzo looking at him seriously on the couch.

"Do you like her?" Enzo asks with a protective glare.

"Why do you care?" Damon asks still looking at her.

"Because I care about her" Enzo answers hardening his glare.

"The truth is yeah I do but she's too good for me" Damon says looking at Enzo with a defeated look on his face.

"She's too good for anyone" Enzo shakes his head laughing.

"I agree" Damon nods with a small chuckle.

"If you won't hurt her and you really care about her, go for it" Enzo shrugs with a smirk.

"She would be the last person I would think about hurting" Damon says smiling looking back to her shadow.

"You should tell her" Enzo smirks at him.

"You're ok with this?" Damon asks him sceptically.

"Yeah she's like a sister to me and as long as you don't hurt her and treat her properly" Enzo nods with a small smile.

"I wouldn't hurt her" Damon scoffs feeling offended at the idea of hurting the only person who sees him as the person he was before his heart stopped beating and his skin became cold.

"Then tell her" Enzo says.

"I can't she deserves better" Damon says sighing.

"She's the kind of girl who deserves to be loved, cared for and protected, if you could do that then you're what she needs" Enzo says.

"She's so different" Damon says.

"Yeah she is that's what makes her so great" Enzo says with a laugh.

"Tell her how you feel before it's to late I know how it feels to be in love and not tell her everything I wanted to" Enzo says taking a drink of his scotch sighing.

"I will" Damon assures looking back out of the window at the beautiful young woman who continues to read her book singing a quiet song to herself unaware of the men's conversation inside.
