Confessions

Y/n wakes up in her bed in the cabin but not remembering herself going back into the bed.
She keeps her lavender coloured night dress on going into the kitchen.
She sees Enzo sitting on the couch.

"Hey Enzo good morning" she smiles at him happily.

"How are you so happy in the mornings?" Enzo asks with a chuckle.

"I don't know just am" she shrugs laughing.

"What are your plans for today?" Enzo asks.

"I don't know yet what about you?" she shrugs.

"I'm visiting an old friend today" Enzo says.

"Nice, be kind" she points at him.

"I know I know Dear" Enzo rolls his eyes with a small smile.

Damon walks into the cabin to see the two in a conversation. The corner of his lips lift at how carefree and happy Y/n looks even after just waking up.

"Hello old friend" Enzo says looking at Damon.

"Hello Enzo" Damon says.

"Hello and good morning Sunshine"  Damon says smiling at her.

"Hi Damon good morning" she responds looking away nervously.

"I should go get ready" she says walking into her room.

"Are you going to tell her?" Enzo asks Damon.

"Yes I'm going to tell her today" Damon says.

"Good well I have to go" Enzo says getting up.

"Bye Y/n!" Enzo calls out.

"Bye Enzo be safe and remember be kind!" she calls back sweetly.

Enzo leaves and Damon stands at the front door inside waiting for Y/n to come out of her room.

She walks out of her room wearing a white dress that comes down to her knees with a flower crown on her head that she made with her powers.

"Damon can you drive me to the Gilbert house please?" she asks nervously.

"Why don't you call it your house?" Damon asks.

"Because I lived in three places in the past year" she says shrugging.

"Hm ok yeah I can take you to the Gilbert house" Damon says.

The two walk out of the cabin to Damon's car.

They sit in silence for the car ride to the Gilbert house.

Y/n and Damon arrive to the Gilbert house and they get out walking into the home.

"Elena, Jeremy?" she calls out going into the house.

"Y/n what are you doing here?" Jeremy asks seeing
Y/n and Damon.

"I came to see you and Elena" she tells him smiling.

"You're supposed to be at the cabin where you're safe" Jeremy says angry.

"I know but I have Damon with me" she motions to Damon behind her.

"Clearly he won't keep you safe if he brings you away from the cabin" Jeremy says angrily glaring at Damon.

"Jeremy it's not his fault I asked to come here" she says calmly.

"He shouldn't have taken you away from the cabin he's putting you in danger" Jeremy says angrily moving closer to Damon squeezing his hands into fists.

Damon goes closer to Jeremy having enough of him accusing him of not keeping his little sister safe.

"Jer calm down please" she pushes Jeremy back gently trying to avoid an argument breaking out.

"Y/n if you get hurt it's his fault" Jeremy says angrily sighing backing away and rubbing his face.

"Jer if I get hurt it's my fault not his" she says calmly.

Damon walks out of the house slamming the door angrily.
She looks at the door deciding to follow him.

She looks around everywhere for Damon as she walks into the forest calling for him.

"Damon!" she calls out begging to get worried.

"Damon please" she sighs looking around sadly.

She sees Damon pacing in the forest angrily.

"Damon I'm sorry" she apologizes walking towards him.
She walks closer to him putting her hand on his shoulder.

"I'm not hurt and even if I was it wouldn't have been your fault" she says sadly.

"Damon you're not going to hurt me" she tries to reassuring him.

"How do you know?" Damon asks lowly.

"Because you keep me safe and I'm sorry about what Jeremy said he doesn't know you" she says with a small smile looking at Damon.

"I could hurt you" Damon says.

"You won't" she tells him confidently.

Damon shows his dark form looking at her expecting her to show any signs of fear but nothing happens,
she walks closer to him wrapping her arms around his torso.

"I trust you" she says into his chest.

"Sunshine I'm not good" Damon shakes his head scoffing.

"You are good you just don't see it" she says looking up at Damon still hugging him resting her chin on his chest.

"I'm not scared Damon I never was" she smiles up  at him.

Damon hugs her holding her close to him resting his chin on the top of her head.

"I love you" Damon says quietly.

She looks up at him surprised at his confession.

"You love me?" she asks with wide eyes.

"Yeah I didn't realize it before" Damon says looking down at her.

"Why?" she asks confused.

Damon chuckles shaking his head looking down at her like she has two heads.

"Because you're different and you don't see me as a monster like most do" Damon smiles down at her.

"You're not a monster you never were" she smiles at him.

"I love you too" she smiling up at him.

He looks down at her smiling as he puts his hands on her cheeks leaning down and kissing her sweetly.

Never in Damon's life has he believed in an eternal love but at this moment as he's kissing the woman of his dreams he can't help but hope that for once luck will be on his side.
