The Other Side

The sunlight shines through the dark curtains cascading trickles of light across the walls and dark furniture. Damon groans rolling over in his bed with a bottle of liquor falling onto the floor with a thud while liquid splashes around the bottle.

His door creaks open and Stefan stands in the doorway leaning on the doorframe sighing with a disappointed look on his face as a woman with bandages stumbles out of Damon's room grabbing her purse wearing a short bright pink dress and holds her heels in her hand waving awkwardly at the brother and walks out of the door and out of the house.

"So you're back to feeding off of women and drinking" Stefan sighs rubbing his face watching his older brother turn in the bed glaring at him.

"Get lost" Damon grumbles out rubbing his eyes to adjust to the light shining in the room.

"You know I was at Elena's today and Y/n is doing great" Stefan tells him picking up the fallen bottle placing it onto the nightstand.

"Great thanks that mates me feel so much better" Damon scoffs glaring at the younger brother.

"Just telling you the truth and you're here getting over a hangover with a girl sneaking out of your room" Stefan shakes his head sitting on the armchair in the corner of the room.

"What do you want me to do prance around with a massive smile on my face" Damon smiles at him sarcastically.

"You do realize this is your fault" Stefan looks at his brother with raised eyebrows.

"Yes thank you I do realize that" Damon scoffs getting out of bed throwing on a black shirt.

"She didn't say she was leaving you for her soulmate she just said that she has one" Stefan reminds him.

"I was there for that conversation I know what was said" Damon scoffs stretching his shoulders.

"So you bring an asshole is because?..." Stefan waited for an answer.

"It doesn't matter" Damon sighs avoiding his eyes.

"Why did you break up with her?" Stefan asks with a small glare becoming angrier about his behaviour.

"It doesn't matter" Damon grumbles out.

"She loved you and you screwed it up" Stefan points standing up staring at his brother's back glaring.

"I know I screwed up alright!" Damon yells grabbing onto Stefan's shirt collar.

"I know what I did and now I have to deal with it, she's better off with this mystery guy because if he's anything like her he's perfect for her and I'm not, we are completely different and I have no clue why she ever gave me a chance but she did and I screwed it up" Damon continues staring at Stefan with a glare.

"Show her the guy she deserves, be that guy she deserves Damon, she cares about you and yeah I'm surprised too that she gave you a chance but she did so don't screw it up" Stefan glares at his brother pushing him off of himself and walks out of the room to leave Damon to think about what he had said.

Damon scoffs grabbing the bottle of liquor and turns around throwing it at the wall angry at himself for everything he's done.

He has to fix this.
How will he fix this?
Will she forgive him?
