Chapter 39: A Warm Welcome

Manta airships patrol the skies around the City of Atlas, keeping in communication with each other over radio. As Jaune pilots the group's Manta bullhead toward the city as Jaune was taking glances as a small signal that he was getting to his right in a small screen with a unlock symbol with a Cross on it.

Jaune: Hm.... Wait a minute....

They receive radio contact.

Atlas Air Traffic Female: Manta 5-1. Welcome home. Please continue your approach to Atlas docking bay Omega-12. A security team will meet you there. Over.

Jaune widen his eyes and groans to himself and whispers:

Jaune: Should of knew Merlin have done this...

Ruby and the others aboard Manta 5-1 look around at the large military air fleet surrounding the Kingdom's capital.

Ruby: I don't understand. What's happening here?

Qrow: I don't know.

Jaune kept quiet as Maria noticed Jaune was looking hesitant.

Maria: Huh? You nervous or something?

Jaune: No....

Maria: Its normal reaction when seeing this bright annoying city.

Jaune Thoughts: I should of knew Merlin would of done something from her grin....

Weiss: I've never seen our forces deployed so aggressively before. We need to let them know that Ironwood invited us.

Yang: Im sure that he already inform them of our passage to him.

Jaune who was flying then starts to fly the Manta downwards to Mantle as they confused everyone.

Maria: Are we stopping by a drive thru?

Jaune: No.

Qrow: This isn't the way to Atlas kid?

Jaune: I know.

Qrow: Why are you heading down to Mantle when we need to be up there?

Jaune: Merlin is why.

Qrow: Huh?

Ruby: Jaune?

Jaune: We cant go to the docks.

Weiss: What do you mean?

Jaune: Because, I just realize that we are flying in a illegal Manta bullhead.

Weiss: Illegal?!

Ruby: Wait but why? The commanding officer Cordovin said that the general Ironwood gave us passage, So we can just fly to the docks?

Jaune: That is normally the case but... He never gave her that order nor did he receive any letter from Qrow or know of us being here.

Qrow: You joking.

Jaune: No, Mordred Keep everyone down so we can land safely out of public eye.

Mordred: On it.

Ruby: But if she didn't receive any orders from Ironwood then why did she allow us to leave?

Yang: Was this her plan, Did she really hate us that much?!

Jaune: No, The only one to blame is Merlin.

Nora: Merlin...? Why her?

Blake: She was very nice though?

Jaune: She may act nice but she is a prankster in heart, She gave a false report from Ironwood to Cordovin to allow us to get to Atlas.
