MONTHS HAD PASSED AND LORD PARK AND HIS BROTHER HAD FALLEN IN AN ACCIDENT AT SEA. A scroll with the sigil of House Yang was sent from Firegarden to the Ancient City. The news arrived like a dagger to the heart, delivered by the cold words inscribed on the scroll. The contents of the letter appeared suspicious, casting doubt upon the tragic accident that had claimed the lives of Lord Park and Ser Park. As the companions gathered around, their faces etched with sorrow, a sense of unease lingered in the air.

Jieun's eyes welled with tears as she read the scroll, her heart heavy with the weight of loss. Ser Park had been her unwavering guardian, a stalwart protector who had shielded her from countless dangers. The thought of his absence sent a pang of grief coursing through her veins.

Jake and Sunghoon, who had grown up under the guidance of their beloved uncle, Lord Park, were overcome with anguish. Their grief was palpable, etched upon their faces as they struggled to process the devastating news. Lord Park had been their pillar of strength, a figure they had always looked up to, and now, he was gone.

But amidst their sorrow, a flicker of suspicion ignited in their hearts. The circumstances surrounding the accident seemed too convenient, too perfectly timed. The letter itself bore an air of suspicion, as if carefully crafted to mask a more sinister truth. Doubt crept into their minds, planting seeds of distrust.

'This. . . this doesn't feel right,' he muttered, his voice laced with skepticism. 'How can we be sure this was truly an accident? It could be a trap, a setup to weaken us.'

'I can't shake the feeling that something is amiss. Our father and uncle were formidable and experienced. It doesn't make sense for them to meet such a tragic end without any warning.' Sunghoon nodded in agreement, his jaw clenched.

A shaky breath pushed past Jieun's lips. 'Ser Park was no stranger to danger. He had faced countless perils by my side. It feels. . . too convenient, as if someone wanted to remove them from our path.'

'We cannot let it slide,' Riki muttered, taking the scroll from Jieun's hands, eyes skimming over its content.

'Our older brother, Jimin, will be the new Lord of the North,' Jake said. 'We can send a raven to him and ask for his support in his matter.'
