JIEUN HAD ALWAYS ADORED FEASTS. There was a smile gracing her features as she watched the lords and ladies engage in their activities. Somewhere drinking themselves insane with ale and wine, others were discussing politics while others were simply staring, observing.

Her hair had been braided and pinned, golden ribbons holding it in place. Jewellery covered her fingers, a heavy pendant hanging from her neck with the help of a golden chain, the necklace of her mother ━ she always carried it.

The symphony played out, musicians tugging on their strings, the bard's breath leaving his lungs as he formed harmony with his words. It was a jolly tune, one that made the minds of the drunk happier. She watched as happiness laced black lashes, single maidens blinked flirtatiously at married men while their wives glared daggers.

'Is the feast boring you, brother?' Jieun asked, watching as Jungwon slumped further into his chair.

'Perhaps,' Jungwon shrugged, though he wasn't really bored. 'I'm never the most interesting man at the party, am I?' He asked to which Jieun snorted.

His gaze darted around the room with a mixture of disinterest and judgement.

'Maybe I am simply tired.' Jungwon took a sip of his water, 'And you, sister? What do you think of it?' His tone was dry.

'I say I am in need of some entertainment. I am happy our father is enjoying himself━' Jieun took a quick glance at the father, seeing him holding his stomach, laughing in joy at something a lord said. 'It is his day after all. But perhaps some lord will get too drunk for his own good and engage in some dramatic acts. That would be quite amusing, would it not?'

'Indeed it would,' Jungwon agreed with a small nod. 'There are no finer forms of entertainment than watching other noble lords get sloppy drunk and make fools of themselves. Perhaps we will have the fortune to see a fight this evening.'

Jungwon smiled, imagining a lord falling off his chair and passing out on the floor. 'Let us be hopeful, my sister.'

Chuckling, Jieun turned her eyes towards Lady Kim who was dancing with her brother. 'And what of your betrothed, is Lady Kim's company not entertaining?'
