JIEUN AND RIKI'S FORCES APPROACHED THE CAPITAL CITY OF FIRESTONE, the scene that unfolded before their eyes was a nightmarish tableau of chaos and bloodshed. The once bustling streets were now a war-torn battleground, bathed in the fiery glow of burning buildings. Pillars of smoke billowed into the sky, obscuring the sun and casting an eerie haze over the city.
The echoes of clashing steel reverberated through the air, accompanied by the anguished screams of the wounded and dying. Buildings lay in ruins, their walls crumbled and windows shattered, bearing witness to the ferocity of the conflict that had consumed the city. The once vibrant marketplace, now reduced to rubble, served as a grim reminder of the price being paid for power and liberation.
Amongst the chaos, the city guards, torn between conflicting loyalties, engaged in a bitter and brutal struggle. Some stood resolute in their allegiance to Jungwon, their armour emblazoned with the emblem of House Yang. Others, their armour adorned with the banners of Jieun's forces, fought with unwavering determination for her cause. The clash of their weapons filled the air, mingling with the cries of defiance and desperation.
In the midst of this turmoil, the commoners, emboldened by the opportunity to rebel against their oppressors, surged forward, their makeshift weapons raised high. The weight of years of suffering and indignation lent strength to their blows as they clashed with the guards, their voices raised in defiance. The cobblestone streets ran red with the blood of both oppressors and the oppressed, intermingling in a gruesome testament to the price of liberation.
As the chaos and carnage unfolded in the streets of Firestone, Jieun, Riki, Jay, Jake, and Sunghoon took advantage of a hidden passageway known only to Jieun. It was a secret route that bypassed the main gates and led them directly to the heart of Firestone, unnoticed by the battling guards and rebels.
Jieun led the way, her steps purposeful yet haunted, as memories of her past flooded her mind. The narrow passageway wound through the bowels of the castle, its stone walls echoing with the distant sounds of the ongoing battle. Dust clung to the air, the dim light casting ethereal shadows along the corridor.
Finally, they arrived at a concealed entrance that led to Jieun's old chambers. She paused before the door, a mix of emotions flickering in her eyes. Slowly, she pushed it open, revealing a room frozen in time, untouched by the chaos that engulfed the city.
