6: Calm down, Ice princess.
ELSA
"Don't call me that! Wait, why are you here?" She asked Jack, eyeing him sternly. I can see that she's beyond shock, seeing us together.
He was about to say something but I cut him off. "I forgot to tell you guys," I began. "He's the childhood friend, I was talking about," I finished as I wrapped my arm around his. He furrowed his eyebrows. "Now, wait just a-" "And, we should probably go." I smiled and they smiled as well, but I could tell that they were smirking at my situation. "Ooohh," Ruffnut trailed. "Okay then, enjoy your date!" She teased, waving at us. "Yeah," Raphy said. "We need to go too, bye!"
I sighed, my shoulders dropping. Jack chuckled beside me. "What a good show. I bet you're loving my arms, now." I scoffed, pulling my hand back from him. "Next time, just act all normal like we're childhood friends!" "Sadly, it was quite obvious, though." He crossed his arms.
If it was too obvious for him, I hope it's not for them. Not surprisingly, students from the university would also spend their weekend in the mall. And everyone knows that this is the most famous mall of the city.
What if my schoolmates would spot us together, walking around the mall? 'Oh, we just bumped into each other and asked him to shop with him.' They won't buy that. But I'm thankful that we soon left after we bought everything that is needed to keep in disguise and after hours of waiting, finally, the truck soon arrived with the furniture and appliances that we ordered.
I started guiding the deliverers to where they should put the boxes and Jack helped them. "Everything inside?" I asked but he just ignored my question, unpacking them. Such an arrogant jerk. I crossed my arms, staring at him as he do the work. I could see how his shoulders flexes as he moved and his jaw clenching everytime he tries to take off the tape.
"Mind, helping me?" He asked after turning to see me. I snapped and nodded and soon we did all the work. I moved the furniture to the positions that he wants and he places the appliances such as the flat-screen TV, toaster, stove, etc. After that, thankfully, he also helped me with my work which I highly appreciated as well.
"You look excited," I commented, cocking an eyebrow at him. "It's normal." He simply uttered, hammering the nails for the frames. I can barely see his emotion right now because he's standing on his toes, facing up to do the job. But I could tell that he had his bored expression again.
"-isn't. You look more excited than a soon-to-be father." I said which surprised me. That's the most stupid thing to say. What would he think of me, now?
I bet he'll think that I'm taking this as some kind of live-in relationship, couples are doing.
He stayed silent but in my peripheral vision, I saw him smirk which made me frown. I wonder what he's thinking. "All done," He declared, rubbing his palms together. I smiled as I get the frames to be hanged. These are actually small paintings that he also brought with him, thinking it must be valuable from him, I don't know.
What ever it is, I want to hang it up myself. I stepped on my toes and frowned at the hight to the nail. I can't reach it, damn it! It's pissing me off, knowing how short I am than him.
I furrowed my eyebrows, already jumping on my feet to reach it but my arms are already hurting. God, this is so embarrassing, in front of Jack. He's just there, staring blankly at me as I do this silly business. I bet he's already making fun of me, inwardly.
"Let me just do that for you," He impatiently offered but I shrugged him off. "I want todo it, by my self." I said, stubbornly. I hope he'll include the fact that I am one determined girl. "You're acting weird." He commented.
