32: Just One Night.
ELSA
I sat there in front of our table, eating my favorite foods. I really miss mom's home made meals. They are the most delicious things I've ever tasted than any other foods from the finest restaurants.
"Ah," I moaned, smelling everything before me. My mom chuckled, watching me eat. "I miss everyone of them." I said with my mouth full. She smiled. "I'm glad you still liked it."
"Of course!"
"Be careful outside, by the way. I heard winter this year will be really harsh." Mom reminded. "Pfft, that's nothing." I cockily said. Well, I like winter.
Mom rolled her eyes. "It's not about you, and your immunity to the cold. It's about the intensity of today's winter. Blizzards, perhaps."
I smiled at her.
"Of course, mom. I'm not a lid anymore."
I was glad, this conversation was just like in the past. As if nothing had ever happened.
I wouldn't want to have too much drama for one day. And I think my mom knows that so instead of all the crying until we sleep, she just maid me supper.
And to be honest, it was better than Jack's cooking.
"Are you fine back in the city?" She asked, all a sudden, eating her food too. "Mhm," I nodded my head, continued eating. "Uhm... I've met my parents." I said a little awkward. She just slowly nodded.
"I've met new friends! I became much more independent now!" She chuckled. "I can see that now."
"And..." I paused, my smile starting to drop. Mom waited, tilting her head to see my face. "A lover?" She asked out of the blue, surprising me.
How did she know?
"Sweetie, I've already been to that when I was in your age. I've experienced the funny feelings too." I turned shy, looking down at my food. "Mind telling me who's the lucky boy?" She looked excited but I was worried.
I hesitated, tightening my grip on my spoon.
"He's a..." I gulped. "A Rivory." I finally said, easening mom's excitement.
I was hoping not to dissapointment her too bad.
"Oh," she said, didn't expecting that at all. She shrugged, trying to pick her words. "We... can deal with that, right?" She said smiling. "Love and business differs in so many levels."
I smiled, hearing her words. She's actually right. "How about you, mom? How are you and dad?"
"Well, as usual. Busy with our second branch here in Meirville. Your father is still in Europe, still moderating our first branch. Its seemed that the Rivory Hotel Inc are trying to top us, huh?"
My lips formed a line, shrugging. "But, Ellie. Keep in mind that I didn't call because I was busy. I didn't call because I already knew that they will be what's best for you." She explained.
"But... They're so controlling, mom." I mumbled, making her frown. "You have to deal with that yourself, dear. You won't be strong if there aren't problems you need to conquer. The crying but brave princess is better than a care-free but wimpy one."
I turned silent.
There was still one thing that's been bugging me since I was in the hospital.
I began scanning her. There were small lines already forming beside her eyes. But she still looked radiant as ever. Her light blonde hair, shining and so was her blue eyes. I wouldn't want to forget this sight before me. I've miss seeing her face for the past few months and I would cherish it until I place a foot in the palace.
