"Ladies and gentlemen, we are beginning our descent and preparing for landing. Please fasten your seatbelts, return your seats to the upright position, and stow your tray tables. Thank you for flying with us."

Agad akong napamulat ng marinig ang announcement.

Today is the National Accounting Competition. Halos sumuko na tong utak ko noong mga nakaraang araw. We focused so much on reviewing. At kahit sa gabi ay ginugugol pa rin namin ang oras sa pag aaral.

To be honest, last night is the only night I slept well. Professor Carlton told me that I should have a goodnight sleep, lalo na at maaga kaming umalis ngayon dahil bumyahe pa.

We used her private jet to get to our destination. Nauna na nga sya doon kahapon pa, together with Professor Valdez. We're only with Professor Castillo. She's also one of the instructor and my Professor before.

"Don't leave any of your things behind. Double check, okay?" Bilin nya bago kami bumaba.

Ang sariwang hangin ang agad na sumalubong samin. The air here in province is really different compared to the city. No matter how much oxygen I inhale, hindi ako mauubo pagkatapos.

"Is Professor Carlton going to fetch us, Ma'am?" I asked Prof. Castillo.

"I'm afraid not, Miss Monteverde. But don't worry, they sent us a ride to get to our hotel." Sabay ngiti.

Napatango na lang ako bilang sagot. I'm kinda hoping I will see her as soon as we landed. Pero mukhang marami atang inaasikaso.

"How come you didn't pick anyone from the senior department, Ma'am?"

Tatlo lang kasi kaming contestants, from first year, second, and me, who's a third year student.

"Well, masyado na silang nasobrahan sa mga contests. We need to give other students a chance for them to shine." Explain nya ng nakangiti pa rin. "By the way, how come you never joined when I offered before? You always decline by saying you don't have the courage to do so."

Napatawa ko dahil parang nagtatampo ang tono nya. "I really don't have the courage that time, Ma'am. I was just a first year student at grabeng adjustments pa ang nararamdaman ko noon." I thought before that as soon as I enter college, everything will be simple, kasi syempre konting kembot na lang, makakapagtapos na.

Pero isang napakalaking joke pala yun. Kung dati, I work so hard to be an academic achiever. I always aim to be on top, especially because that's what my Dad always wanted me to be. But now, all I want to do is to pass. Yung kahit sa quizzes maka 5 out 20, grabeng saya ko na. As long as hindi zero.

"I understand. But don't get me wrong, I'm glad that you've already earned that courage now." Saka nya kinurot nang marahan ang pisngi ko.

"Ma'am, can we go to this place after the competition?" Lapit samin ni Zia, she's also one of the contestants together with Sera.

"I can't promise you, darling. I'll check our schedules first, then we'll see what happens, okay?" Malambing na sagot naman nito.

"Sure, Ma'am. Thanks!" Saka ito bumalik sa tabi ni Sera at hinayaan silang mauna sa paglalakad.

"Ma'am, I think being a preschool teacher suits you better." I can't help but notice.

Napatawa naman sya sa sinabi ko. "Because of the way I talks?"

"And also the way you act. Ang lambing nyo po kaya." And that's one of the reason why she became my favorite teacher before.

She's super kind and understanding. A kind of teacher any students desire to have. That's why, most of my male classmates develop a crush and even attempted to court her. Bukod kasi sa mabait, ay maganda din. Her personality goes well with her beauty.
