CHAPTER 30

Rylie's POV

Today is the National Accounting Competition. We all woke up early dahil medyo natagalan yung byahe namin papunta dito sa place kung saan gaganapin yung paligsahan.

As of the moment, we're still waiting for each contestant to arrive. Hindi na din namin kasama sila Professor Castillo dahil iba din ang category na sinamahan nila Zia at Sera, and each of us have designated areas too.

I look at the Professor next to me. As usual, she's quiet again while busy browsing in her phone. Pagsilip ko ay naglalaro lang naman ng Like a Dino.

How can she enjoy that without turning on its audio? Parang ang boring naman kung ganun.

As much as I want to have a chat with her, hinayaan ko na lang syang maglaro. She loves that game so much. Baka ako sisihin kung matalo.

I yawn because of boredom. It's been an hour, I guess since we arrived here. Akala ko pa naman sa eksaktong oras magsisimula. Talk about Filipino time. Tsk!

"What time did you sleep last night?" I heard her asked after she put her phone down on the table.

"12:30, I think?"

Automatic na nangunot ang noo nya sa naging sagot ko. "I told you to sleep early. Did you spend your time watching those brats twerking their huge asses in front of the camera again?" I almost spit the water I'm drinking after hearing what she said.

What the hell? Ano na naman bang dahilan para i-bring up nya yung tungkol dun? I don't even watch those kind of videos, I swear. Nagkataon lang talaga na lumabas yun.

"I did not, Ma'am. Besides, you already uninstalled my TikTok app, remember? Siguro na insomnia lang ako." But the truth was, I finished the 16 episodes of this Kdrama that Ave recommended.

Sabi ko nga 5 episodes lang muna, but I was too hooked up in watching. Nakaka intriga kasi yung story, plus I like the chemistry of the main leads.

For the second time ay muli akong napahikab.

"Tsk" Nagulat ako ng bigla nya na lang akong pinasandal sa balikat nya. "I'll just wake you up if the competition's about to start. Nap for awhile." Malamig ang tono nyang sambit.

I bit my lower lip to stop myself from smiling. Wala naman akong balak matulog, eh. I'm just feeling sleepy because of boredom and not because I didn't get enough sleep last night. Sanay ako sa puyatan.

Oh my heart, please, kumalma ka.

Dahil sa lapit namin ay mas lalo ko syang naamoy. Her scent playfully lingers my nose. Ang bango naman.

I sneakily put my face closer to her neck para mas maamoy pa sya. Ano kayang perfume to? All I know is her scent reminds me Jasmine and Roses' fragrance.

"Are you done sniffing me?" Agad akong napalayo dahil sa sinabi nya.

I felt my cheeks heat up in embarrassment. Gosh, napansin nya pala yun.

Napakamot na lang ako batok at nahihiyang tumingin sa kanya. "Ang bango nyo po kasi. Anong perfume gamit nyo?"

She rolled her eyes that made me pout. Para nagtatanong lang, nagtataray na naman sya.

"Secret"

"Secret? As in Victoria Secret? How about yung name nung perfume, Ma'am?"

Hindi ko alam kung anong mali sa tanong ko dahil bigla na lang syang napahilot sa kanyang sentido.

"Secret, meaning, I'm not telling you what perfume I use." My mouth hang in awe after what she said. Pati brand ng perfume nya pinagkakait pa.
