CHAPTER 42

Rylie's POV

"Hi, guys! Welcome to my vlog. As you can see, I'm currently in Town today." Napailing na lang ako sa tabi ni Ave na nagawa pang mag vlog.

Ewan ko na lang talaga kung makangiti pa sya ng ganyan kung sakaling mahablot ang phone nya.

"Saan po muna tayo pupunta, Miss Cath?" Carlos asked. He's the son of their caretaker.

Dapat nga ay si Manang Perla lang ang pupunta dito, but Professor Alvarez insisted that we should come here instead. Para na rin daw makabisita kami.

The only person who chose to stay in the resthouse was Leyla cause she still have some things she needed to accomplish.

Dapat ay hindi na rin ako sasama para naman may kasama sya dun. But she decline and said that I will enjoy it more if I come along with them.

"I've always wanted to visit the church here. Lagi kasi kong walang time para makapunta dun."

"Embarrassed to say that you're not religious at all?" Professor Carlton said all of a sudden. I can't distinguish whether what she said was a joke or not.

Ang seryoso ba naman kasi.

"Minsan ka na lang nga magsalita, hindi pa maganda yang lumalabas sa bibig mo. Dyan ka na nga." Para syang nagtatampong bata na lumipat sa tabi ni Professor Wales.

Speaking of her, I notice that she's been stealing glances at me since this morning at breakfast. Para syang may gustong sabihin, pero pinipigilan nya lang ang sarili.

Sa tuwing din kasing nahuhuli ko syang nakatingin, she will immediately averted her gaze away.

"How can we get there, Carlos?"

"Mag jeep na lang po tayo Ma'am para sama sama pa rin na makapunta dun."

"Alright, jeep it is, then."

I can't help but look at the three Professors in front of us. Sila kasi ang magkakatabi, while kami din ng mga friends ko. Si Carlos naman ay piniling kakabit na lang daw.

They all look uncomfortable cause the konduktor keep on letting the passengers ride the jeep even though it's already full, saying that there are still available seats for 5 people.

Ano yun? Kakandungin na namin yung iba pang sasakay? Ipit na ipit na kami dito.

It seems like it's also their first time riding a jeep pa naman, like us.

"What am I gonna do with that?" Professor Carlton asked when a passenger handed her money.

"Bayad ko po." The woman said. Pero imbes na kunin, one of her brows raised, still undecided of what to do.

"Excuse me, Miss. But we can pay our own fare, thank you." Sabi din ni Professor Wales.

The woman's brows furrowed. "Ano pong pinagsasabi nyo? Pinapakisuyo ko po yung pambayad ko dun sa drayber."

Our mouth fell open while Professor Alvarez is now stiffling her laugh. She's even pinching herself right now para mapigilan lang.

Namumula ang pisngi ni Professor Wales na inabot yung bayad. Professor Carlton on the other hand looks like she doesn't give a care with what's happening.

"Manong, here." Professor Alvarez handed a one thousand bill.

"Ma'am, wala po akong panukli nito."

"You keep the change, Manong. Bye and thank you!"

We immediately saw the historical church Professor Alvarez mentioned earlier. I learned that it was built during the Spanish era. Despite that, the church still looks sturdy and beautiful. Lalo na at gawa ito sa bato.
