Rylie's POV

"Alright, alright. I'm getting ready now." Sagot ko habang nagsasapatos. I'm currently talking with April on the phone.

"Okay, don't forget my coffee, ha. You know my morning will not be complete without drinking it."

"Seriously, Suarez? You didn't think of buying it first before you went to school?"

"Ih! Sorry na, Lie. Si Summer kasi ang aga kong sinundo. Wala pang mga bukas na coffee shop." I can now imagine her lips getting longer after saying that.

"Fine. What drink is it again?"

"Venti Latté. Thank you, Lie! Ang bait mo talaga, sana kunin ka na ni Lord. Mwah!" I immediately ended the call, afraid that she will ask for more.

After I finished preparing, I went downstairs only to witness them having breakfast. Silang mag asawa lang ang nandun. I bet both of my siblings are still sleeping.

I froze on my spot when I met Tita Lacey's gaze. And that made her brows furrowed.

What does she expect? That I greet her with a smile and embrace? Heck no. I would rather rot in hell than giving her a warm welcome.

And I know that he will do the same treatment her wife did to me. So why bother greet him? Baka sermonan lang ulit ako.

"Oh, Rylie? Why are you standing here? Let's have breakfast. Come on." I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard my brother's voice.

From the looks of him, mukhang kakagising lang nito.

I was about to give him a response, when Tita Lacey interjected. "Hijo, you're awake. Come, I ask the cook to prepare your favorite." Alok nito sa anak.

But my brother's gaze remain on me. Pinipilit nya pa rin ako. As a response, I simply shake my head. "I'll just have breakfast outside, Kuya. Nagmamadali din po kasi ko." I didn't wait for any reactions, at mabilis na umalis ng bahay.

I don't know, I just feel suffocated being in that house. As much as I want to stay at my unit, hindi naman ako pinapayagan ni Dad.

Hindi ko nga rin sya maintindihan. He told me to stay with them, but he completely ignore my presence naman. Everything I do seems like a mistake to him. Maybe even the thought that I'm breathing the same air as him ay isa ko na ding kasalanan.

I decided to shake those thoughts away. Thinking that it would do no good to me.

Today's the enrollment day for the second semester. And just what I promised April, I went to a coffee shop that I saw along the way to order her Latté.

"Can I interest you with our pastries and bread?"

"No, thank you."

Ngumiti lang sya ng tipid bilang sagot. "All in all, that'll be 875 pesos, Ma'am."

After getting my order, agad akong humanap ng bakanteng mesa. Good thing that there's not a lot of people today. I can choose whichever place I want to sit.
