The rain that had been threatening to fall all morning finally fell heavily from the thick dark gray clouds that covered the Autumn sky, by late afternoon. The rain turned the bleak day cool and damp, making Harry Potter, Savior of the Wizarding World, glad to be inside his home on the couch by a roaring fireplace. He sat with his legs stretched out in front of him, a well-loved blanket that had been lovingly made for him was thrown over his legs, and an open book lay forgotten on his lap as he held a warm cup of tea in both of his hands, while he watched the rain fall outside.

He sighed contently; he's always loved the rain since he was a young child, he liked to watch the rain fall and reminisce about his past, following his mind wherever it wanted to take him in his memories. Today, his thoughts centered around his present, he was incredibly lucky to have the life he did now, it definitely could have been a different outcome if they had lost the war with Voldemort. Since the war ended, a lot of brilliant things have happened in his life, he became an Auror; a job he loved and he got to work with one of his best mates, Ron Weasley. He was also able to call some of the greatest people his mates, all of them the same mates he had made in Hogwarts, especially Ron and his wife Hermione Granger-Weasley.

To him though, the best thing that's happened to him since the war was the close mates they had made a year after the war ended. It was a long, slow journey to becoming as close as they all were, but after apologies, tears, trust-building on both sides, and forgiveness, they could now proudly and happily call Draco Malfoy, Pansy Parkinson, and Blaise Zambini their best mates. The reason that this was the best thing to happen to him was because he's been hiding a secret from everyone, he's been secretly in love with Draco since their third year at Hogwarts. He kept it secret because he knows Draco would never feel the same way about him and he doesn't want to ruin the friendship they had fought so hard to build.

He was beyond grateful for the friendship they all shared and that they had all been able to move on and overcome the hardships of the war. That didn't stop him though, from wishing that he could have something more with Draco, that he could finally love him openly. He couldn't though, and he refused to lose Draco completely if he didn't feel the same, so he'd just have to continue loving Draco in secret, living out his fantasies through his daydreams. His thoughts were interrupted by someone knocking on his door, confused, he got up and still holding his tea, answered it to find Draco standing there alone.

"Hey, Draco, what are you doing here?" Harry greeted him smiling.

"Hey, Harry, I'm sorry I just dropped by, but I...I uh, I had a bad day at the hospital, and I didn't want to go home to an empty manor, so I thought I'd come to see you. I can go home if I'm interrupting something." Draco replied.

"Do you want a tea and we can talk?" Harry offered, moving so that Draco could come in.

"I'd like that, thanks, Har." Draco said smiling.

"I'll go make the tea, you go sit in the living room."

Harry went into the kitchen and began making the tea, he finished and returned to the living room to find Draco sitting at one end of the couch, staring out the window lost in thought, he looked so damn handsome.

"You alright, Har?" Draco's concerned voice spoke, breaking into Harry's thoughts.

 "Uh, yeah, why?"

"You were just standing there holding the teas, so I thought something was wrong."

"No, sorry, Dray, I'm fine really." Harry said smiling, mentally kicking himself for getting lost in his thoughts in front of Draco.

"You're sure?" Draco asked unsure, as Harry sat beside him and gave him his tea.

"I'm fine, Dray." Harry repeated. "I was just about to make dinner, do you want to stay?"
