Harry sighed happily as he sat in the warm welcoming reception area of the magical orphanage beside his nervous husband. Draco sat quietly, staring at the floor, his right leg started bouncing up and down with nerves as he picked at his fingers. Harry reached over and without speaking or looking at him, he took one of Draco's hands and squeezed it reassuringly. Draco's leg immediately stopped moving and he felt Draco sigh deeply, calming himself, Harry leaned against him to give his husband strength.

He knew Draco was terrified about becoming a father, he didn't want their child to have the same horrid childhood that he had had. He was more terrified though of turning out like Lucius, he truly believed he'd become his father. Honestly, Harry had no fears, doubts, or worries, he knew Draco was going to be the best father to their child, everyone believed that Draco had to figure that out for himself though to truly believe it too. Even if they didn't end up adopting a child for whatever reason, Draco had started all of this on his own and Harry was so proud of him for facing his fears, him doing this would be enough for Harry.

He didn't know why but he had a really good feeling about this, he was calm and felt it in his heart that this was going to turn out alright, they were going to be fathers. He just wished that he could give Draco the calm he was feeling so he wouldn't be so nervous but since he couldn't he did the next best thing and gave Draco someone to lean on and draw strength from. His thoughts were interrupted by Esmelda coming into the room smiling, they both stood up too and greeted her smiling.

"Draco, Harry, it's wonderful to see you again, I'm sorry I kept you waiting." She apologized.

"Don't be, is everything alright?" Harry asked.

"Yes, we just had to calm some of the young ones down, they get a little too excited when prospective parents come to the orphanage." She explained sighing as she smiled. "Alright, let's get started on your journey to becoming fathers."

"Wait, j-just like that?" Draco questioned confused. "No paperwork or anything?"

"That was what our home visit was for." She explained smiling. "I had you both fill out all of those papers and I was able to observe you, your relationship, and your home life. I already spoke to your lovely mates and they all adore both of you, so I'm completely satisfied with everything."

 "Really?" Draco asked looking relieved.

"Draco, darling, I understand your worries because of your...past." She said gently, Draco nervously pulled his sleeve down on his shirt trying to hide the now faded practically non-existent Dark Mark. "You were both mere boys, thrown into a war neither of you wanted. Besides, I know you aren't the same boy you were back then, I also know all about all of the good you've done since the war ended. That's why I believe you deserve happiness." She said gently as she took his hand and squeezed it. "Now, come on, you two, let's go find your child."

 "Thank you." Draco said quietly.

**Later**:

Draco followed Harry and Esmelda through the orphanage, after his talk with her before they started he felt a little better because of her kind words but he was still scared. Was he capable of loving a child the way they deserved? What guarantee did he have that he wouldn't screw the child up? They had already been to different rooms, meeting the children and spending time with them but neither of them had bonded with any of them yet. His biggest fear was that they'd never bond with any of them and they'd have to accept that they weren't meant to be fathers. Or what if Harry bonded with a child...their child and he didn't?

Suddenly needing some fresh air, he told them where he was going and left the room before he went outside into the backyard. He looked around and saw some of the caregivers from the orphanage outside with some of the children. Sighing, he sat down on a bench and watched the children playing, wondering if their child was out here somewhere. As he sat there, he felt someone tug on his sleeve, he turned confused and saw two young children standing there, a boy and a girl, it was obvious that they were twins.
