The full moon illuminated the sky with its soft light, casting its soothing glow on the sleeping world below. Millions of stars sparkled above Draco like diamond dust, as an owl's haunting cry was heard somewhere in the distance. He shivered in the cool air and wished he'd remembered to grab a jumper or jacket before sneaking out of the house. His crutch thudded softly as he leaned heavily on it and walked down the sidewalk. Memories of a recent nightmare still haunted him, making him restless and wary; he had snuck out of the house unnoticed an hour ago, relieved that everyone was in the kitchen and he wouldn't have to face their questions or company.

Making it outside unseen, he paused for a moment to take in the cool evening air and look around; houses lined the street, most were familiar but others were strange, not remembered. He had never meant to go for an extended walk alone, but the idea of getting some fresh air and clearing his head was too tempting for him to pass up. He had only planned on going around the neighbourhood, knowing he'd get lost if he tried going any further alone. Using his crutch as support, he slowly began his walk around the neighbourhood, letting his mind wander as he went. Time passed, and before long he realized that he had gone far beyond his original plan of just walking around the neighbourhood.

By the time he realized what had happened, he was completely lost, he felt his heart beat fast as he looked around, he had no idea where he was and no one even knew he was missing. Dammit, how in Merlin's name could he have been so daft and careless to wander away from home in his condition? How was he supposed to let Harry and the others know where he was? He couldn't even retrace his steps to get back home, he had taken so many different turns and couldn't remember the way he had come from. Maybe if he kept walking straight he'd find someone who could help him. Or he'd get even more lost. Shivering even more, unsure if it was from the cold or fear, he knew he couldn't stay where he was or he'd freeze, so he decided to keep walking.

After what felt like hours of walking, he stumbled into a small town that was still busy this time of night. As he walked the cobblestone streets, he could feel the magic coming from every corner of the town and he became anxious. He had only recently let Harry and the others do magic around him, so being around all of this magic scared him. With each second that passed, his panic grew and threatened to overwhelm him at any moment. He was barely able to contain it when he suddenly heard a familiar gentle female voice call his name. He turned towards the voice and saw two of his and Harry's closest mates, Luna and her girlfriend Ginny, walking towards him with their arms linked.

"Hello, Draco." Luna greeted him smiling, but her smile slowly disappeared and was replaced with concern. "Are you alright?"

"No, I... I'm lost." Draco answered quietly.

"Where's Harry?" Ginny asked concerned, knowing that Harry wouldn't let Draco wander off on his own.

"I... I don't know." Draco answered as he shivered.

"You're freezing, Draco." Luna said concerned as she took his hand gently. "Let's go get some hot chocolate and warm up." She suggested smiling as still holding his hand, they went into the Three Broomsticks.

**Meanwhile**:

Harry sighed beyond frustrated, his hands clenched tightly into fists at his sides as he, Ron, and Blaise returned to the house, they had wasted three damn hours trying to get that prat, Murdoch, to tell them what he had done to Draco. Nothing they did or said worked and they had left before they killed the tosser. Arriving home, Hermione and Pansy were sitting at the kitchen table, deep in conversation. The three of them joined them for tea, telling them what happened. As they spoke, Harry became lost in his thoughts. He felt so helpless and felt like he was failing to protect his husband, so he excused himself from the table and made his way upstairs to check on Draco.
