Third Person
The staff had really outdone themselves. The garden was looking absolutely amazing, there had now been a tent set up which held plenty of tables where everyone could be sat, of course there was a bar and a huge buffet table incase any would like some food.
The DJ had already started playing the wedding playlist that Lily and Talia spent HOURS preparing and with no children about everyone had already started properly drinking.
"I can't wear these fucking heels any longer" Lily unbuckled her heels and had thrown them to the side, not actually thrown but placed them.
"Could you grab me a vodka cranberry and lemonade please?" Lily asked her husband as he announced he was going to the bar. Jj nodded his head and a few minutes later returned with the drinks.
For two hours, everyone sat around engaging in conversation and it wasn't until everyone was either drunk or tipsy when they all started dancing.
"Congratulations Lil!" Lily's uncle Graham said walking over to his niece.
"I haven't seen you since you were this height and now you at you, you're married!" Graham put his hand to his thigh to indicate the size of Lily the last time they saw each other. Lily spent a good 15 minutes catching up with her uncle and then she was of course dragged over to all her family, most she couldn't really remember and were only here because her father wanted them to be."Lils you remember Stacy and Phillip don't you?" Alan pointed to his nieve and nephew who were of course Lily's cousins. The last time she had seen or even spoken to Stacy and Phillip Robertson was almost 4 years ago at Stacy's son's christening.
"Congratulations lil cuz, oh and congrats on the baby as well" Stacy pulled her younger cousin in a for hug accidentally spilling some champagne on the floor in the process.
"Thank you, how are you? I haven't seen you in so long!" Alan walked over to Shauna who was shouting him from their table and Lily stayed behind catching up with Stacy for a while before the DJ annouced that the dances would be starting soon.
"If you could all clear the floor please, the bride and groom will be having their first dance" The DJ spoke through the microphone as "Mirrors" by Justin Timberlake started playing through the speakers.
The newly weds locked hands and walked into the middle of the dance floor and of course began dancing to the song that Jj had chosen.
"I don't wanna lose you now
I'm lookin' right at the other half of me
The vacancy that sat in my heart
Is a space that now you hold
Show me how to fight for now
And I'll tell you, baby, it was easy
Comin' back into you once I figured it out
You were right here all alongIt's like you're my mirror
My mirror staring back at me
I couldn't get any bigger
With anyone else beside me
And now it's clear as this promise
That we're making
Two reflections into one
Cause it's like you're my mirror
My mirror staring back at me, staring back at me"Now Lily and Jj... especially Jj weren't the best at dancing but this was an intimate moment between the two. They didn't care about the hundreds of people watching them, the didn't care about the ones videoing them or taking photos. Throughout the whole song, the only thing that matter was them and their love for each other which they had declared earlier that day.
Lily's POV
The only thing that Jj had requested throughout the wedding planning process was to pick our first dance song and you know what... I'm so fucking glad he did.
I never really listened to the lyrics before that but now I realised why he picked that song and when listening to the lyrics, I definitely did not cry...."I love you so much Mrs Olatunji" He whispered in my ear and then placed a passionate kiss on my lips. Fuck these photos are gonna be so good after they get developed.
"I love you too Mr Olatunji"----------------
"And now time for the father/daughter dance"
"Before the song plays, I'd actually like to say a few words. Dad you have been there for me my whole life, you've helped me through so much and I'll forever be grateful for you. I couldn't ask for a better father and I'm glad that I was blessed with you. I wrote this song when I was 15 years old and thanks to my wonderful husband we managed to make this into an actual song, so dad this one is for you" I gave the microphone back to the DJ who began playing the track that I had recorded a few months ago.My dad was already tearing up and he hadn't even heard the lyrics and by the end of the song I already knew we would be blubbering messes.
'You tucked me in, turned out the lights
Kept me safe and sound at night
Little girls depend on things like that
Brushed my teeth and combed my hair, had to drive me everywhere
You were always there when
I looked backYou had to do it all alone, make a livin', make a home
Must have been as hard as it could beAnd when I couldn't sleep at night
Scared things wouldn't turn out right
You would hold my hand and sing to meCaterpillar in the tree
How you wonder who you'll be
Can't go far but you can always dream
Wish you may and wish you might
Don't you worry, hold in tight
I promise you, there will come a dayButterfly, fly away
Butterfly, fly away, butterfly, fly away
Flap your wings, now you can't stay
Take those dreams and make them all come true
Butterfly, fly away, butterfly, fly away
We've been waiting for this day
All along and knowing just what to doButterfly, butterfly, butterfly, butterfly, fly away
Butterfly, fly away
Butterfly, fly away'"Oh Lils, you've got me going now" My dad cried as the song ended. It was official, my makeup was now ruined because I was right we were blubbering messes by the end of it, as a matter of fact everyone in the tent was crying and I didn't blame them.
"You should really do something with that voice of yours" My dad added whilst wiping his tears away.
"I was thinking about that to be honest, I don't know though...""I've already told her Alan, she's got an amazing voice" Jj butted in, passing my dad a beer and me a vodka.
Anyway for the remainder of the night all we did was get drunk. Poor Vik was targeted again after all the guests had left and it was just the girls and the sidemen along with Lux and Freezy.
It wasn't until 4am when Jj and I left everyone and went up into bed."I can't believe we actually did it, we got married!" I excitedly said as I put my wedding pyjamas on, obviously I won't tell you what they were because that's kinda personal but I will tell you one thing... they were off in a matter of minutes.
"Jj?" I asked, he mumbled back yeah.
"I love you, you know. Like I really fucking love you, I moved to London searching for something and that something was a home. It took me a while to realise that I didn't need a house to have a home because you were it. Jj you are and will always be my home"
"Fuck I should've put that in my speech" I added laughing.
