Sanem bravely started down the hallway determined to appear confident, and unbothered by everyone around her. She took some deep breaths channeling the rockstar inside. She plastered on a sassy smile and tried to embody a runway model. As she got closer to the center room, she felt her bravado strengthen. She was ready. Of course in the moment of pure confidence, Yigit broke her stride.
"Ready to head out?"
Sanem was confused by the question.
"Don't we have more to do here?" Sanem asked bewildered.
Yigit waved off Sanem's concerns, "Can said he was pretty much done. He just has a few editing pieces to play with."
Sanem walking past Yigit said, " Well then as the editor I should be there to approve."
"Sanem wait!"
Sanem felt Yigit grab her arm and swing her around bringing her close to him. Sanem was surprised by the gesture and how she landed with her hands settling on Yigit's chest. Sanem, caught off guard, was frozen and Yigit seized the moment by tightening his grip at the small of her back.
Sanem felt Yigit's hold tighten, and uncomfortably stepped out of his hold.
Yigit responded apologetically, "Sorry I didn't mean to ...."
Sanem interrupted brushing it off, "Don't worry about it. I'm such a clutch sometimes."
Yigit cleared his throat saying, "I just wanted to let you know that Can said he doesn't need us anymore. We can go."
Sanem, still recovering from the surprising encounter, focused intensely on Yigit's words. "He doesn't need us anymore." Yigit was right. Can didn't need her anymore. He said it so many times she didn't know why until now she didn't truly see it. Sanem lifts out of Can's life so easily. Can will return to his old ways soon. It will be as if the time they spent together would be a dream he was waking up from.
Sanem swallowed hard and responded in a small voice, "ok, let me.. Let me grab my things."
Yigit watched Sanem go while having a goofy smile on his face. He was excited for them to be off together, just the two of them for 3 glorious days.
