The story was special. The legend was powerful.
There were moments or story lines I desperately wished for, and moments that at times seemed small but were so important to discover and delve into. This is a book of these moments that I wanted to ex...

Can was in his truck driving to the restaurant. He agreed to meet CeyCey for a late dinner. Can was not really hungry but he could use a drink...or two. How Can had agreed to this unusual meeting, he wasn't quite sure. He formed a small, sad smile as he thought about how CeyCey had convinced him to come to dinner. Can didn't want to admit it, but CeyCey was the one person who could get Can to meet him after he had been so wrecked. Can never expected to find a confidant in CeyCey but there it was. Can knew how hard CeyCey had fought for him and Sanem to reconcile, and somehow felt a bond had formed with him as a result.
On the drive, Can couldn't hear the music he was playing or the sounds of the traffic passing by. All he could do was silently watch the world around him as he passed street signs, went through traffic lights, and saw people walking together. So many people were out, laughing and enjoying the fresh air of the brisk night. Everyone was acting as if nothing had changed in the world. But he knew better.
Can thought about the final moments before he had left the cursed rocks the last time. He had been on the rocks staring aimlessly at the water. Suddenly, his phone rang, shocking him back to the present. He quickly answered the phone, hoping it would be Sanem. For the briefest of moments, Can thought Sanem regretted her words. He hoped Sanem would be doing something childish like pretend to be at a party or something else even more ridiculous. If it was her calling. He knew... she couldn't let go either.
But it wasn't her. It was CeyCey. And his pain was indescribable.
Can swallowed his grief, once more feeling the loss of Sanem. Why couldn't it have been Sanem on the phone trying to make him jealous? Asking him if she forgot something by the rocks? Or just to say anything really?
When Can arrived at the restaurant, he was unsure if he should go in or just drive away. He thought about how distressed CeyCey sounded on the phone and couldn't just leave him like that. Can took a deep breath and got out of his car, hoping that helping CeyCey would be a distraction for himself from this never-ending night.
Can entered the restaurant and heard his name called out with a familiar CeyCey yell and turned to see him waving. As he approached, Can stopped short realizing CeyCey wasn't alone. Can's heart started to race. He felt a sense of shame as he continued to walk toward the table.
At first, Can wasn't able to look at CeyCey's guest. While CeyCey stood up and greeted Can, she just sat there with her arms folded. Can did not make eye contact but could feel her eyes shooting lasers at him, hoping to pulverize the remaining pieces of him that Sanem had left behind.
Can sat down nervously glancing at her while trying to make small talk with CeyCey. He thanked CeyCey for the invitation and asked how he was doing. Still she did not speak but remained silent and just stared... and stared... and stared some more. The silence was explosive and intimidating.
Finally, Can found the strength to make eye contact with her and speak to her. "Hello Ayhan," he said but his voice wavered.
"Can Bey," she replied, in a cold and decidedly unwelcome tone.
