The story was special. The legend was powerful.
There were moments or story lines I desperately wished for, and moments that at times seemed small but were so important to discover and delve into. This is a book of these moments that I wanted to ex...

"So where do we start?" Can asked feeling uneasy. He was used to being in control of his life, his fate and his relationships.
"I know where I want to start," Sanem said looking down, "but I'm afraid."
Can lifted Sanem's chin and said reassuringly, "I guess it's good we're both afraid. It means we are both taking this seriously... even if it hurts."
Sanem felt the strength of his hand cradling her face transfer to her soul, "For the first time in my life, I'm afraid but I don't want to run away or lie to avoid it either."
Can kissed Sanem's lips softly and smiled with his eyes still closed sighing, "I'm glad."
Can realized his words could be misconstrued and quickly opened his eyes to clarify, "I mean I'm not glad that you are afraid but..."
"I know," Sanem gave a soft smile, "I know what you mean."
"You usually do, " Can said with aw and disbelief , "When no one else does- you do."
Sanem's heart raced at his confession and it gave her the final push to start. She couldn't contain herself anymore and blurted out, "I'm sorry I hurt you when I gave Fabri the perfume and that I lied about it."
Hearing the name Fabri, felt like a punch in the gut for Can. He thought he moved on but the anger started to build up again. Can looked down trying to calm himself as Sanem continued.
"There were so many moments I wanted to tell you, Can, but so many things were happening. I couldn't add something else that would hurt you and maybe even make it worse with Fabri."
Can looked up with hurt in his eyes trying to stay calm, "It wasn't just about you selling the perfume, which still hurts. But what hurt me more was that every time you lied to me, the lie hurt me more than the truth. You lied, then pushed me away. You'd tell me to leave, you don't have feelings for me, or you'd turn down my marriage proposal and say it's because I am the one rushing the moment."
Sanem swallowed hard, "I shouldn't have said that about the proposal. I..."
"If," Can said afraid to know the answer but hoping, "If you didn't lie...would you have?"
Sanem looked confused.
Can said with trepidation, "Would you have said yes?"
Tears filled Sanem's eyes as all she could do was nod.
Can sucked in air that he didn't realize he was holding. He was not ready for the impact of that one nod. He turned to look out at the night sky feeling his soul break a little bit more.
"That's what I thought," Can whispered.
Sanem with tears in her eyes pleaded, "I... I couldn't say yes when you didn't know everything. It felt wrong."
