"Whoooo!" JJ cheers as he pushes the doors to Kildare County High School wide open. The rest of the Pogues are quick to follow his escape as they also celebrate the end of the school year.

"Finally!"

"That day took forever."

"I'm never going back!"

The cheers continue from all of them. This year has been a lot and they were all ready for its end.

One less thing to think about Kie thought. She had been hyper focused on school the last half of the year, not wanting to give her parents more reasons to keep her home. Now that that was out of the way she could just coast. A true break.

She then remembers the trip to California. They leave tomorrow morning. She frowns a little thinking about it. She wished she could just stay but her parents wouldn't even take that request seriously.

She looks over at JJ who is laughing with Pope about something. His smile wide and bright. She's pulled into his orbit, a magnet she doesn't want to fight. He catches her eye and she didn't think she would see his smile get any bigger but it does. Even if she's gone the first two weeks, she'll still have him and they'll still have the rest of the summer.

Maybe this trip can just be her parent bucket trip. Get all the hanging out they want to do out of the way so when they return they can dive into the Wreck and she can just dive right into JJ. She suddenly blushes at where her thoughts go.

They haven't crossed that line yet. She doesn't really know when they will. The powder keg she felt in the beginning still very much there, only temporarily dampened when they have enough time alone to well, do others things. She's not sure what stops them from going further, maybe the timing just never feels right.

JJ turns to the group, "Yo, let's go to the break!"

"Sorry man," Pope says. "I gotta head to Heyward's, he needs me to do some deliveries."

"We're out too," John B says. "Sarah wants to spend time with Wheezie before she leaves so we're heading over now."

Sarah gives an I'm sorry face to them both, hugging Kie specifically. "I'll see you in two weeks, don't forget to call me!" She says.

"I won't," Kie says, hugging her back. She salutes the rest of the gang as they head out.

"Looks like it's just you and me Carrera," JJ winks.

Kie's not gonna complain.

JJ is able to borrow Shoupe's personal truck so they could haul their boards to the break. He hasn't had any more run ins with the police while using it.

He imagines that no one wants to repeat that embarrassing experience again so they leave him alone. As pissed as he was in that moment, having Shoupe come up and basically tell them they were wrong was pretty awesome. He still only takes it when he absolutely needs it though.
