Chapter Thirty Two- Kassidy

A week had passed and it was now Monday, which meant that Kassidy was starting school and both Maya and Carina were starting back at work. To say that all three were nervous about how their day was going to go would be an understatement. The three were all dealing with their nerves and anxiety in different ways. Carina was up early and had been cooking, Maya had been running on the treadmill since 5:00am and Kassidy had seemed to shut down, and wasn't talking due to the anxiety that she was experiencing.

During the tail end of the week before, Maya, Carina and Kassidy had gone shopping to get Kassie all the supplies that she would need for school. Both Maya and Carina could see a reflection of who Kassidy was throughout the things that she had chosen, it was all basically yellow, which seemed to be Kassie's favourite colour, but Maya and Carina thought the colour showed who their girl was perfectly. Kassidy was their yellow.

By 7:15 am all three had gotten ready and had eaten, even though it had been a struggle for the small blonde teen. However she still managed to eat most of what she was given for breakfast, which made both Maya and Carina happy knowing that even though she was struggling with her anxiety she was still trying to fight her eating disorder.

"Kassie, come on bubs. We need to leave," Maya yelled down the hall, to Kassidy. The teen was in her room, she was meant to be grabbing her thing so they could leave, but she seemed to be frozen while she was sitting on her bed with Romeo laying with his head on her lap.

Maya and Carina were both waiting by the door for Kassidy to come, but even after she had been called she didn't seem to come, both of them starting to worry. So they made their way to the girls room to see what was going on. Carina knocked on the door, Maya standing next to her waiting for the girl's voice to tell them that she could come in.

"Kassidy, Bella, can we come in?" Carina aske, hoping that she was going to get a response from the small girl. After not receiving a response again they both decided to go into the room. Once they entered the room, they saw Kassidy and Romeo on the bed. Kassidy staring straight at the wall, Romeo was laying with his head on Kassie's lap, glancing up every once in a while at his human. Maya and Carina made their way over to the young girl.

"Hey, bubba," Maya said softly, not wanting to scare the small girl, however it didn't really seem to work as the girl still flinched from the sudden noise. "What's going on bubs?"

Kassidy looked at Maya and then Carina, tears welling up in her eyes.

"I don't want to go, I want to stay with you," Kassidy whimpered, looking between Maya and Carina.

"I know, believe me I know bubs, If i could have it my way you would be with us all day every day. But it is important that you go to school, you need to learn and you need to make friends. It is only a few hours and once you finish school for the day both Carina and I will be there to pick you up and we will be waiting for you to tell us all about your day. You are going to have and amazing day," Maya said to the small girl, hoping to calm her nerves.
"Maya is right Bella, it is important that you go to school and we will both be there this afternoon when you finish. Everything is going to be the same as we talked about, but we are running late. So why don't we get in the car? Maya and I will answer any questions that you might have when we are in the car." Carina said after Maya, holding out her hand for the small girl to take.

Kassidy stood up and took Carina's hand and Maya grabbed the girl's backpack and they made their way out to the car.

Maya, Carina and Kassidy finally pulled up to the middle school, they all watched for a moment as children walked into the school gates. Kassidy watched as many kids that she would now be going into the school with. The blonde stayed lost in her thoughts until she heard Maya's voice.
