The first thing Kassidy was able to register was the beeping of machines, next she tried opening her eyes, however was quickly stopped after being blinded by the fluorescent lights of the hospital. She let out a small groan.

"Kassie, can you open your eyes sweetheart?" Kassidy heard a voice speak to her, it took a moment but she was soon able to work out that the voice belonged to Maya. She then heard shuffling around the room and heard Carina's voice too. They were both with her, they had stayed, even though Kassidy felt like she had done nothing but cause trouble for them in the time that she was living with them.

In Kassidy's mind they should have gone running for the hills. They should have sent her back to live with Lane, because that is what she felt she deserved. He had made that very clear when she was living with him, he had told her repeatedly that no one else would love her or take care of her apart from him, that what he did to her was his way of showing her love. So when Maya and Carina came into her life and didn't hit her when she was 'bad' or didn't make her skip meals because she hadn't run, it was confusing for the young girl because it was different. This was a type of behaviour that she hadn't really experienced before. They were different, a good different and they were safe.

Kassidy slowly began to be able to open her eyes after adjusting to the fluorescent lighting of the room, she looked around for a moment and she saw her Aunt Maya with a worried expression etched on her face and then she saw her Aunt Carina whose facial expression she couldn't quite work out. It took a moment before everything caught up with Kassidy. The trauma of what would happen when she would faint before she was living with Maya and Carina, that the voice inside Kassidy's head was screaming at her telling her that she was only causing her aunts trouble.

Kassidy began to sob, everything felt like it was too much. The small girl's body shook as she sobbed and struggled to breathe from all the overwhelming feelings that were going through her body. She doesn't know what to do.

Maya and Carina watched for only a second before stepping in to help the small girl. Maya picked up the small girl holding the small girl close to her chest, rocking her back and forth trying to get her to calm a bit. Carina found the girl's giraffe, Gus, who was sitting on the side table and then she quickly found the girl's blanket that Gabri had picked up from their apartment as well as some clothes for all three of the DeLuca Bishop family.

"I've got you bubba. I've got you," Maya said softly as she continued to rock the small girl. All Maya wanted was for the little girl to be okay, but she knew that the small girl had been through so much in her 13 years of life and it wasn't fair. No one should have had to go through what she had gone through.

It took almost an hour, but between Maya and Carina they managed to calm the young girl. Once they did they all laid on the hospital bed taking comfort in one another, Kassidy's head was resting on Carina's chest, listening to the italians heartbeat. Maya was holding the small girl's hand rubbing her knuckles trying to help the small girl to continue to feel grounded. It took almost another hour before the young girl fell asleep snuggled in with the people who made her feel the safest she had ever been.

The following morning, Maya and Carina were trying to get Kassidy to eat the breakfast that had been brought around, however nothing that they seemed to be doing seemed to help, it only seemed to make Kassidy more agitated and anxious. They had done everything that had been suggested by both Diane and Dr Kellie, however there was only so much that they were able to do due to the fact that they were in the hospital. She was currently in Maya's lap, with the older blond having to keep a loose grip on the girl as she had tried to run only a few moments before. Carina was sat with
