I heard feet coming up the stairs to my room. I slit my eye open just in time to see a fully dressed Sadie pounce into my room. Her look today was a pink tank top, white shorts, a pink plaid shirt tied around her waist, and her blonde hair flowing down her chest in loose curls. I rolled my eyes, this girl's coordination obsession was ridiculous.

"Alright so I was thinking- You're not out of bed. Riley, you and I are leaving in five minutes! How could you be so irresponsible."

She was such a princess! I mean I welcome her into MY room and she- wait. Did she sat five minutes?!

"Five minutes?!"

"Yes. That's what I said."

I scrambled out of bed and ran to my closet. I frantically ripped out a pair of jean shorts and a Nirvana T-shirt. I threw on my combat boots and pulled my hair into a ponytail. I ran into my bathroom and clumsily washed my face and brushed my teeth. I ran into my bedroom again. Sadie sat on one of my turquoise chairs admiring her nails. "This was supposed to be my room. I can feel it. Although, my current room has much more room space. Not to mention I'm allowed to have a t.v."

"That's great. Let's go!"

"You had more than five minutes but watching you race around was kinda funny. I mean, look at what you're wearing!"

I looked down. I thought it was fine.

"What?"

"Where's the color scheme?"

I should have known. "Yeah, I don't work like that. Now I'm ready. We're leaving."

"I haven't had breakfast!"

"Yeah same. Think of that next time before you come barging into my room like that!"

I grabbed her arm and pulled her whining butt down the stairs and into the garage. I had my skateboard in hand. Sadie grabbed her bike and actually didn't complain.

"Not going to tell me that you want your mom to drive?"

"No. I have a basket on my bike so you can put your skateboard in it if you want when we get down there... but you're paying for breakfast." With that she peddled out of the driveway. I watched in confusion but hopped on my skateboard and followed her.

Once we reached the town she pulled to a stop at a bike rack that I had missed last time. She parked her bike and I but my skateboard in her basket. She pulled out a chain and handed it to me, "Lock it up, will you?"
I sighed and chained up the bike and my skateboard.

I walked with Sadie up a few streets to a shop called 'The Corner Place'. Considering that it was a place on the corner of the street, the name fit perfectly. I walked in and was hit by a blast of air conditioning. I sighed, it was so hot and humid here. Colorado's fresh mountain air sounded divine.

"What are you sighing for? Let's get a table! I'm starved!" Sadie was highly annoying. I walked up to the counter and asked for a table. Once Sadie and I were seated in a booth, I told her that if I was paying she couldn't go over five dollars for food. She rolled her eyes and complained that she might as well just pay for herself if I was going to be setting limits.

Our waiter came over and took our orders. "Yes, I'll take one fresh omelet with no meat or gluten... and a glass of water." Sadie smiled after her order.

"Seriously? Anyways, I'll have an omelet too with everything on it and orange juice please." I ordered and closed my menu.

"Alright, and how many run over skater boys would you like with that?"

I looked up at the waiter. "Skater boy?"

"Afternoon Mystery Girl. Can I know your name yet? Please?"
