I bent down and carefully opened the box to find none other than a ball gown and mask. "I clearly am not the only one to get locked up here." I sighed.
It was a beautiful silver dress. It was gorgeous, and the mask was... enchanting. I had to try them on.
I slipped out of the tattered pink ruins of the other dress and put on the silver one. It was beautiful and looked amazing on me (or it did in the dust covered mirror).
I put on the mask and put my hair up in a messy bun. The pieces of hair coming out on the sides of my head looked stylish.
I couldn't lie; I looked great.
I twirled once more. Then he bookshelf was thrown open. I yelped and looked over to see Taylor coughing. "So... Much.... Dust!"
She regained herself and threw her arms around me, "I found you!!! That's not your old dress. This ones better." Her dress complimented her blue hair and made her look unbelievable.
I sighed, "I'm not going."
Taylor flicked me in the arm and put her hands on her hips, "Oh yes you are. Now get your butt in there and grab some nice shoes and jewelry. We have a prince for you to win over!"
She climbed back out and opened the other side if the locked attic door. I ran to my room and grabbed my snowflake necklace. I also threw on my hightops, just to spite Taylor... and I didn't want to die in high heels.
She dusted herself and me off. Then she analyzed my outfit, "Love the dress. The high tops were expected and should be covered by the end of the dress. The necklace is a fabulous touch and the messy bun gives you just a touch of a rebellious look. All in all, it's good."
I sighed and took in her white topped turquoise dress and beautiful mask. She wore no jewelry but her shoes perfected the look and went well with her beach waves. She had clearly been planning this for ages.
"I'm not going, Taylor."
"Get in the car."
"Taylor." I whined, "Logan and I will never work."
"Then don't be you."
"What?"
"Logan and Riley can't be together. However, Logan and mystery girl can."
I laughed on the inside, I need to have coffee with Cinderella.
"Fine."
We ran down the stairs, I was glad to see that the rest of my family was gone. I saw a note on the counter:
Dear Rick,
We will be back home at midnight. I am so sorry you couldn't come! Love you! - Daphine, Dylan, and Sadie.
Well now I had to be home by midnight. You can just call me Cinderiley.
Seeing how smart I was, I tied my converse extra tight making sure that the prince didn't come looking for me with a size eight show in his hand. Like that wouldn't fit anyone else.
Taylor and I drove up to Logan's house but this time there were limos in the driveway, lights, champagne, etc. I felt as out of place as a cactus in a mattress shop. Weird analogy, I know.
We were like ten minutes late so we ran as fast as we could up the many stairs.
When we finally got to the top, the doors were shutting for the first dance.
"Wait!" I yelled and skidded to a stop on the floor.
I realized that Logan had been about to grab a familiar head of blonde hair's hand for the first dance: Sadie.
Taylor rushed up beside me, "Good evening." She said uncertainly, "Nice weather we're having?"
In that instant I caught eyes with Logan (the only one not wearing a mask) and he smiled. I quickly walked down the stairs, I didn't want to be noticed.
I was found. "Would you do me the honor of dancing with me?" I heard Logan's all-too-familiar voice and my heart sank.
I turned to him, "I suppose so."
I grabbed his hand and he pulled me to the middle of the floor. "I don't know the dance!" I whispered in his ear.
"I'll lead." He said.
"As if." I replied stubbornly.
He smiled and twirled me.
This was actually kind of fun.

"Will you please tell me your name?" Logan asked dramatically.
"No. I can't."
"Can't or won't?"
"Won't."
"Well then Cinderella," There it was again. "I'll be looking for your shoe."
"You probably knock your girlfriend off of her feet with your romantic talk." I said sarcastically.
"She... I wish... but... I don't have a girlfriend."
The look of surprise was real, "What?"
"I'm in love with someone but they didn't show up. I was going to ask her tonight."
"Oh. I'm sorry." I was jealous of myself.
"You're a lot alike her."
"I hope not. She sounds like a jerk, leaving you all alone." I was one.
"I don't blame her. I think it's hard for her to let people in. She spent years blocking emotions out and I think she is having a hard time finding them again... she'd never admit it though. She's more stubborn than anyone II've ever met."
"She sounds lovely."
"She's amazing."
I almost said thank you but caught myself.
"Do you have anyone?" He asked me.
"No." I lied.
The next thing I knew Logan was grabbing my hand and pulling me to stand up.
"I know how sudden this is but... I feel like I've known you my whole life and I'd like to know you for the rest of it. Will you, Cinderella, be my princess?"
I stated at him stunned. Then the I saw Taylor jumping and pointing at the clock; it was midnight.
"Um.. sure. Gotta go,bye!" I yelled.
I ran through the house and to the stairs. I felt someone pull me back.
I looked into Sadie's eyes, "Excuse me! I'm trying to walk!"
I ripped my shoulders out of her grasp; loosening my necklace at the same time.
Taylor and I ran down the stairs. I turned sharply and my necklace flew off. I had to choose my safety or a keepsake.
I sighed and ran to Taylor's car.
From it I watched as Logan stared after me, his very own Cinderella.
