I climbed in Logan's car and opened the bag, it was a simple t-shirt that had the amusement park's name on it. I have him a questioning look and he smiled.
I unraveled the shirt and a thick piece of paper fell on my lap, I picked it up.
"Logan!"
He laughed, "Yes Riley?"
"I can't go!"
"Look, I know it's weird that someone gas a birthday ball but you could still go. It wouldn't ruin your reputation, even if-"
"That's not what I mean. I don't belong at a birthday ball."
"Riley you have to come."
"Why?"
"Because you're the only person I really want to be there."
We stated at each other and then I yelled, "Keep your eyes on the road!"
He snapped his attention back to the road.
"Logan, I'm not sure that this could work well."
"What?"
"Well... be honest. Who do you want as your princess?"
"Well, I was trying to avoid this but honestly, Taylor."
WHAT. I was heartbroken.
"Did that bother you? It shouldn't it was a total lie, you're my... I'm not going to say princess because that's not what you are. You're my best friend, Riley."
I stared at my hands, "I'm not fit to help you run this city, you know."
"We're sixteen. That doesn't happen until a while later. It's not marriage, it's just a big ceremony of me telling you that I like you." We parked the car and walked the rest of the way up my driveway, he continued to talk.
"Which I really, really do. I think about you constantly which probably isn't healthy and it's kinda creepy, sure, but I mean..." He smiled his crooked smile at me, "How can I not? Then I'm comfortable around you! People say I should be nervous but-"
I finished his sentence, "You're not. I totally get it! And it's not stalkerish, well maybe it is, but I do it too. Every time I hear a song, see something, ect. It all comes back to you."
We faced each other, "Not to mention you're funny." He said.
"And you're charming." I stated.
"You skateboard and have the same interests."
"You treat me as an equal."
"You're beautiful." I stopped.
"That's not the first time someone's said that to me... but this feels different."
He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly and we stood there.
For once, it wasn't me. This time the surprise kiss started from Logan's end.
He didn't hesitate, he just kissed me. I locked my hands behind his neck and he had his around my waist. We kissed for what seemed like a second but was probably a minute. Then I pulled back and rested my forehead on his, I stared into his eyes,
"I have to admit, We really work spontaneous kisses."I whispered for no reason.
Logan smiled and continued the whisper, "They're more than okay, that's for sure."
I stared at him a second longer, memorizing ever part of his face and then I said goodbye. I walked up the driveway when Logan ran up behind me and kissed me again, "There's another one."
I narrowed my eyes at him and walked inside. I closed the door and leaved against it.
I didn't know how I would leave Logan so soon.
I widened my eyes, I'd completely lost track of time! I had to leave Florida in two weeks.
I grit my teeth determinedly, I would make Logan and I work.
I didn't know how.
I just would.
