I was going towards Sadie when she laughed, "Riley, what are you doing?"
"The same as you, I'm going home."
"Oh yeah... about that. Since you didn't pay for me for breakfast you have to do my job."
"No."
"Oh yes you will. Or I'll tell my mom about Logan and how I like him but you keep stealing him. She'll make sure you never hang with him again." She added a smug smile. I wanted to punch her.
"What's your job?"
"Someone has to go watch Dylan's lacrosse game, it was supposed to be me. Now it's you!"
She gave me the directions and rode off. I sighed and headed towards the field.
I got there as the game was ending. I walked on the field and saw Dylan. I walked towards him and called out his name. "Oh hey Riley."
"Dude! That's Riley?" A kid in the midst of taking off his helmet said.
"Yeah." Dylan was a man of few words.
The boy finally got his helmet off and boy, was he cute. He had tanned skin (just like Logan's, I might add), caramel colored hair and blue eyes. He shook out his hair and smiled at me. "Hey, I'm Parker."
"Hi As you know I'm Riley."
"Yeah, Dylan really," He paused and tilted his head, "Um... I guess, he underestimated you."
"That was a terrible description."
He laughed, "Feisty."
I laughed with him, "And proud of it."
Dylan grabbed my arm and dragged me away, "Riley, I'm starving let's go and Parker?"
Parker looked at Dylan, "Yeah?"
"Stop flirting with my sister."
I laughed, "Bye Parker."
I walked with Dylan back to my skateboard and his bike. Dylan was quiet but actually a... good kid I guess. He was nice when he wanted to be. He stayed out of everyone's way.
"How was the game?" I asked Dylan. He looked surprised and turned around as if he wasn't sure if I was talking to him. "Um... Good. I scored a few points."
"Awesome! So can you shoot?"
"Yeah."
"Can you shoot well?"
"Yeah."
I smiled and punched Dylan's arm playfully, "Try more than one word answers; they really make talking more interesting."
I hopped on my skateboard and pushed off. I heard Dylan behind me and smiled. I genuinely liked Dylan's shy personality. That would be the second boy I could stand here.
We got home and pulled into the garage. My phone buzzed and I saw a text from an unknown number saying that it was Logan.
Riley: Hi
Logan: Howdy
Riley: What's up?
Logan: Meet me at the park on Richardson Street.
I brought my eyebrows together confusedly. My thumbs danced on the keyboard.
Riley: Why?
Logan: I like talking to you
Riley: Fine
Logan: Yayy
Riley: BRING FOOD
I closed my phone and told Dylan that I'd be home soon. I hopped on my board and went down the road until I found Richardson Street. I hopped off of my board and walked around the cute park looking for Logan.
