We fell to the floor. Once we hit the floor I rolled off of the body below me and jumped up. Where did my board go? "Hey, dude. Next time you're-" I looked down at the person I'd run into and he stopped talking. "You're a chick. You board?"

"You're a guy. You can walk?"

He smiled at my witty comment and stood up, brushing himself off. "Well played." He continued to stare at me.
"Why are you staring at me?"

"Sorry. There just aren't any other girls who skateboard in this town."

"I'll hopefully be doing it a lot."

"No it's not a bad thing. I like it."

I looked at him quickly and then back down. I picked up the Walmart bag and handed it to him, "Yours?"

"Yeah. What's your name?"

"Ummm.."

He laughed, "Is it hard?"

I found my board and put it on the ground, "No. In all honesty, I'm just not sure I want to give it to you. Have a nice day, skater boy." I pushed off but he grabbed my arm. I looked at him, he had dark brown hair and hazel eyes. He was definetly cute. "Yep?" I asked.

"Haha, Skater boy? I like it. So I'll catch you later, um...Boarding Chick?"

"Uh, no! That's terrible," I laughed "Boarding Chick?" I made a disgusted face.

Skater boy laughed too, "Fine I'll need a better one. "

I nodded, "Definitely."

I began walking towards the shop, I didn't skate because I may or may not have wanted him to follow me. He did.

"So do you live around here?"

"Um... Temporarily."

"Temporarily?"

"Well, my real home is in Breckenridge, Colorado."

"How long is temporary?"

"All summer."

"You sound bummed."

"Yeah, I am."

"You might just like this place by then, you never know."

"No offense but I seriously doubt it. My step family is here and they're the worst, I have no good ice cream shops, and I have no friends here."

"Well, you have one. But we could be friends a lot easier if you'd tell me your name."

"Not quite yet skater boy. You don't even have a nickname for me yet."

"I'll work on it."

We were walking towards the shop where I left my stuff. Skater boy and I continued to talk along the way. I stopped in front of the store.

"This is where I get off."

"A store?"

"I left my stuff here."

"Okay, let's get it and I'll walk you home."

"It's like heavy furniture and a ten minute walk to my house."

"Fine. But you're not getting rid of that easily. I'll find you again mystery girl."

"Mystery girl?"

He flashed a brilliant smile in my direction, "Yep. I'll wait with you until your family comes." I got my stuff and called my dad. I saw my dad's car coming. "Bye skater boy."

"See you later mystery girl."

I helped load my stuff into Rick's car and climbed in. I was pretty sure that I had sent skater boy on his way before Rick had seen him. "How was the shopping trip?"

"Decent. I found some stuff."

"Good."

The rest of the ride was silent.

When I got home I decorated my room (see picture at top of this and last chapter). On the deck I put up fairy lights and some cool deck chairs I found in the basement. In the bathroom I just unpacked my toiletries from home. I grabbed my suitcase and pulled it into my closet. I hung up the little amount of summer clothes that I owned and didn't even fill half of the closet. I walked down to the end of the closet, I hadn't been back here yet. It was just a little extra space. I was turning around to go back into my room when I saw something that caught my eye. A perfect square in the wall was a different shade of white. I walked towards it and pushed on it lightly. Nothing happened, it was probably just a mistake. I looked closer and saw that the edge was peeling off... like a sticker.

I reached forward and pulled it off. Tons of dust flew up. I coughed. I peered into the strange cabinet and found a dumbwaiter. I wasn't sure whether or not to go on it, what if it fell and I died? I looked underneath it and found that there was a board. I would be safe, if it even worked. I climbed in and began pulling the ropes. I felt myself being pulled up. What would I find up here? I was nervous that I would find like a dead body or something. I continued to pull up. The dumbwaiter stopped. I breathed in and pushed open the cupboard.
