"Hi Logan."
"Have you been crying?"
I looked away.
"Hey," He moved so that I was looking at him, "What's wrong?"
"It's fine." I said stubbornly.
"No, tell me."
And with that everything from tonight's dinner came out.
Once I was done he began to talk.
"That witch! You're not ugly at all, you're beautiful and amazing and funny and just over all... there's not even a word." We looked at each other awkwardly and he continued, "What I mean is that you um... didn't need that crap."
I nodded and he scratched the back of his neck, "So um... speaking of crap... I'm sorry for everything I've done to you."
"It's fine, I'm sorry that I lost it on you that day but Logan, I realized something. You weren't drunk, I kissed you and there wasn't any alcohol, at all. Why didn't you just tell me you didn't like me?"
He laughed awkwardly,"That's exactly it because I did like you but couldn't lose you as a friend so I wimped out. Now I've lost you as both."
"So you used to like me, not now?"
"Yeah."
"Oh." I stared at the black horizon and heard him groan, "I'm doing it again!"
"Doing what?" I asked
"I'm panicking! It's you're fault! Why do you have to be so... so.... I don't even know! Riley, I still like you! I have since I saw you for the first time! But I'm afraid I'll lose you as a friend!"
I didn't hesitate, I kissed him. We kissed for what felt like a few minutes but was probably really only a few seconds. I pulled back and looked down, "Oh my gosh, I'm so awkward sorry. Like seriously I don't even-" He kissed me again.
It was the perfect scene (for me at least) two teens kissing at night, on top of a platform ten feet in the air, both holding skateboards. It was like it was right out of a movie... or it was until the cops showed up.
There was a bright light and someone yelling about crossing property and then I grabbed Logan's hand and we ran. We ran until we reached the store.
Once the skateboards were put away Logan grabbed my hands and looked at me, "So do you want to go out with me? Like right now?"
I pulled my hands out and put them on my hips, "You're not really my type, sorry." I started to walk away.
I felt hands grab my waist and pull me back, I laughed and fell into Logan.
"Fine, fine you got me! What do you want to do?" I said laughing.
"Not sure. Do you want to go get food?"
"No, food was disastrous last time."
"How about... the beach?"
"Tomorrow. I haven't been there yet so I'd like to go there during the day if you will."
"Of course. How about..."
"Oh! Got one! How about bowling!"
"You don't have socks."
"Killjoy. What about laser tag?"
"Bring it."
"No crying when I win."
"Not a chance."
"Not a chance of you crying? Good."
I grabbed his hand and we walked towards the laser tag place.
