I hopped out of my room, wearing athletic shorts and a hoodie. My hair falling down naturally to my chest.
I felt fresh and clean after the shower, tooth brushing, first change of clothes in a day, and brushing my hair. My reddish-brown hair actually looked pretty fine at the moment.
I slipped on flip-flops and hopped down the stairs to see Rick staring at me. "Rilenne... you're okay!" He gripped me in a hug and for the first time in awhile, I hugged him back. "Riley, dad. And I'm actually going to call you that. I'm sorry I acted like... well, a teenager. I'm still Riley. Why did you change the way you acted towards me when you got a divorce? Rilenne, not Riley? Dropping me off anywhere but hanging out with you?"
My dad (not Rick, mind you) sighed, "I thought that you wouldn't like me anymore so I tried to give you distance... maybe too much. I'm sorry Riles. I couldn't express how much I missed you and your mother. Getting a divorce had been the worst mistake of my life."
"Then why'd you do it?"
"I don't know."
"What?"
"I don't remember."
"It was three years ago!"
"I know, I should but I don't even have the faintest idea of why. I had been happy! I loved your mom and I loved you. I still do."
"That's... definitely strange."
"Agreed."
"Hey Dad, I gotta go. Call me on my cell if you need me!"
"Will do, Love you!"
I stopped and said those dreaded words that were now a comfort: "I love you too."
I kissed his cheek and ran to Logan's car. Things were going right again.

"Okay... what about this one?" Logan pushed a button and a song played.
I sighed, "A One Direction song? Really?" I was slightly embarrassed of my phase of loving them... he wasn't going to know about that.
"Which one?"
"One thing. Up all night is the album."
"Right again. Your turn."
I flipped through the songs on his iPod connected to the car radio. "Logan? Why do you have One Direction on here?"
"I have a girl cousin."
"Who you let listen to your iPod?"
"No, who would bully me and that was her favorite song so I let it fuel my Hate fire."
I blinked, "Well then."
"I'm kidding." He smirked.
I smiled, "Okay, I was a little concerned."
We drove down to the local amusement park. Once my eyes landed on the water slides, roller coasters and overall excitement of the place I grinned. My first time riding a roller coaster had been... an experience but now, if it involved feeling like you were on the edge of death, I was into it.
"You look ecstatic." Logan made sure to let me know.
"Oh, I am," I hopped out of the car; eager to get in the park, "Believe me."
He walked awkwardly next to me, "This is the first time I've ever liked someone like you."
"Yeah, I'd hope no one else acts, looks, and has the same exact name as me."
