Debbie was lying on her bed reading a book. As Lou walked in a room, a somber face on, she started to take her pillow without looking at Debbie, who was intrigued.

Debbie looked up from her book, her curiosity piqued by Lou's somber expression. "Lou, is something wrong?" she asked, concern lacing her voice.

"Mind your business, I'm sleeping on the couch tonight." Lou replied without looking at her."

Debbie's brows furrowed in confusion and concern. She gently set her book aside and approached Lou. "Lou, please talk to me. What's going on ?"

"Don't talk to me, don't look at me, just leave me alone."

The room fell into an oppressive silence as Lou's words hung heavily in the air. Debbie's confusion and frustration were etched across her face, mirroring the turmoil within her.

Her voice trembled with a mix of anger and desperation as she confronted Lou. "Why? What the fuck is wrong with you?"

"Can't you just leave me the fuck alone, Debbie? I can't handle this right now." Her voice cracked, betraying the vulnerability that lay beneath her defensive facade.

"No, Lou. No ! Tell me, why are you mad at me? What happened?"

Lou's voice wavered as she struggled to find the right words. "You're suffocating me, Debbie, okay? I need space, I need time to figure things out."

Debbie's eyes widened with disbelief. "What the fuck, Lou? What the actual fuck?" Her voice trembled with anger.

Lou's voice grew softer, almost pleading. "Debbie, please... just leave me alone ."

"I can't do that, Lou. I need to know what's wrong. It's been three months, everything seemed fine. I thought... I thought we had a moment earlier today. And now what ? You can't even look at me? Why, Lou? Why?"

The room fell into a heavy silence once again, the weight of their unspoken words filling the space. The intensity of their emotions hung in the air, suffocating yet yearning for resolution. It was a pivotal moment, where the fragile threads that held their connection together were at risk of unraveling completely.

"I know what happened Debbie okay ?

"What are you talking about ?"

"Tammy told me ."

"About what ?"

"Did you tried to kill yourself when I left ?"

Lou's words hung heavy in the air. Debbie's eyes widened in disbelief and her mouth opened in shock, as if Lou had revealed a long-held secret that she never expected to come to light.

Lou continued, her voice filled with a mix of concern and sadness. "Tammy told me, Debbie. She told me about that night when I left. She said you tried to... end your life."

Debbie's face paled, her emotions flickering between vulnerability and defensiveness. "I... I can't believe Tammy would tell you that..."

"So it's true ?"

Debbie didn't answer.

"Okay so now Debbie tell me, tell me how am I supposed to look at you, to talk to you ? Tell me how am I supposed to live knowing that I almost killed you."

Angry tears start to roll up on Debbie's tears.

"TELL ME DEBBIE !!! Because I don't have an answer. I don't know how to be close to you, I don't even know how to be with myself right now. "

Debbie's voice cracked as she tried to find the right words. "Lou, it wasn't your fault. Please, believe me. I don't blame you for what happened."

"Well, I blame myself, so fuck you."
