Debbie arrived at the hospital, her heart pounding in her chest as she rushed through the entrance. She approached the reception desk, her voice trembling as she spoke to the medical personnel.

"I received a call about Louise Miller, there was an accident. Can you please tell me where she is?"

The receptionist looked at Debbie with a sympathetic gaze. "Let me check the records." After a brief moment, the receptionist provided the necessary information. "Miss Miller is currently in her room. You can find her on the third floor, Room 307."

Debbie nodded, gratitude and worry mingling in her eyes. "Thank you."

She hurried towards the elevator, her mind filled with fear. As the elevator doors opened on the third floor, she followed the signs leading to the emergency room.

Entering the room, she saw doctors and nurses attending to various patients.

Her worried expression caught a nurse's attention. She approached Debbie, a gentle smile on her face. "Are you Deborah Ocean?"

Debbie nodded, her voice trembling. "Yes, I am. How is Lou? Is she going to be okay?"

The nurse placed a comforting hand on Debbie's arm. "Lou sustained some very bad injuries, but she's stable now. She's being treated by our medical team. You can go inside and see her. Just give her some time to rest, as she's still unconscious."

Debbie's breath caught in her throat as she approached Lou's bedside, her eyes filled with worry. Seeing Lou lying there, unconscious and vulnerable, stirred a whirlwind of emotions within her. She took a moment to gather her composure, her trembling hand reaching out to gently touch Lou's cheek.

"Hey baby," she whispered, her voice choked with emotion. "I'm here. It's going to be okay, baby."

Debbie's heart ached as she looked at Lou's peaceful face. Squeezing Lou's hand tightly, Debbie leaned in closer. "I'm here, baby; I love you."

Time seemed to stand still as Debbie sat by Lou's side. As the minutes turned into hours. Debbie fell asleep on Lou's hand.

As Lou slowly regained consciousness, she felt a heavy weight on her hand. Confusion and disorientation filled her mind for a moment until her senses began to focus. The pain from the accident washed over her.

As her eyes fluttered open, the sight before her warmed her heart. Debbie was sleeping, her head resting on Lou's hand, holding it tightly. Lou could feel the steady rise and fall of Debbie's breath, the warmth of her presence providing comfort in the midst of the pain.

She gently squeezed Debbie's hand. "Debbie... you're here."

Debbie stirred, slowly waking from her slumber. Her eyes fluttered open, relief and exhaustion evident in her gaze. "Lou... you're awake."

Lou nodded, a soft smile playing on her lips despite the pain she felt. "I am."

Debbie's eyes filled with tears as she sat up, her hand still holding onto Lou's tightly. "I was so scared, I thought... I thought I might lose you."

Lou's voice trembled as she spoke, her thumb gently caressing Debbie's hand. "But I'm fine. I'm not going anywhere."

"What happened ?" Whispered Debbie.

Lou took a deep breath, "There was a car accident," Lou started, her voice steady but filled with emotion. "I don't remember much, I was walking, and then there was a car and then nothing."

Debbie's grip tightened on Lou's hand. "It's my fault; I shouldn't have told you to go."

Lou shook her head gently, her eyes conveying reassurance. "Debbie, it was just an accident. You couldn't have predicted or prevented it. It's over now."
