As Lou sat alone in the bar, nursing her drink, Jim, noticed her somber mood. He approached her with a warm smile, always eager to brighten his customers' days.
"Hey there, Lou," Jim said cheerfully. "Is everything alright? You seem a bit down."
Lou offered a faint smile, appreciating Jim's concern. "Yeah...I'm okay, I'll get through it."
Jim nodded understandingly. "Well, you know what they say, a good drink can sometimes help lighten the load. How about I show you my secret technique for making the perfect margarita? It might just lift your spirits."
Lou chuckled softly, feeling touched by Jim's gesture. "Sure, why not? I could use a distraction. But remember I own a club so I'm not a margarita debutant."
Jim grabbed a few fresh ingredients and started to prepare the drink. He explained each step with enthusiasm, making Lou feel involved and curious about the process. As he mixed the tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and a hint of agave nectar, the bar filled with the delightful aroma of the cocktail.
"Now, the key to a perfect margarita is in the shake," Jim said, holding up the shaker with a grin. "You've got to put some love and energy into it."
Lou laughed, feeling the tension in her shoulders easing just a little. "Alright, let's see this secret technique in action."
With a quick flick of his wrist, Jim shook the shaker with flair, making the ice and ingredients dance together harmoniously. He poured the margarita into a salt-rimmed glass, garnished it with a lime wedge, and slid it over to Lou.
"Here you go, one perfect margarita," Jim said proudly.
Lou took a sip, and her face lit up with surprise. "Yeah alright I have to admit this is amazing! You killed it."
Jim chuckled. "I'm glad you like it. Margaritas have a way of brightening even the cloudiest of days."
"That's for sure. Oh, by the way, the girl that I was talking to you about the other night, is alive." Lou said ironically.
Jim raised an eyebrow, intrigued by Lou's ironic tone. "Oh? I take it that's good news, then?"
Lou nodded, a mix of emotions crossing her face. "Yeah, it's good to know she's okay. I learned that she's in LA too."
"Oh... Are you going to try to meet with her ?"
"No...Well, I don't know."
Jim leaned against the counter, offering Lou a supportive nod. "It's a tough decision, huh ?"
Lou sighed, running a finger along the rim of her glass. "Yeah, of course I want to see her again, but ... I don't know. I didn't looked for her all those years and now.. what if it's to late ? Plus I'm Fucking mad at her so..."
Jim listened attentively, giving Lou the space to share her feelings
"I just wish I knew what to do," Lou said, frustration evident in her voice. "I miss her, but I don't want to put myself in ... in another messy situation."
Jim nodded empathetically. "Yeah well, I don't think I can help you with that."
Lou looked up at Jim, a small smile forming on her lips. "Yep, you can't."

"Is it too late for a drink, sir ?"
Lou's heart skipped a beat as she turned to face the person who spoke in this familiar voice. And her mouth hung open as she found herself in front of Debbie.
Debbie quickly glanced at Lou and focused back on Jim.
"I'd like a tequila, please."
Jim nodded and quickly served the drink to Debbie. While Lou was still sitting in owe of what was happening in front of her.
