. . .

you may have wondered where angie has been.
she got the texts from gonta's new group chat, surely?

well, angie had been at the movies when this all went down.

as the movie came to a close, she finally checked her phone.

"a red... herring? but a tortoise... ahh, i see," she whispered to herself.

as she walked out of the theatre, someone bumped into her.
angie had been so glued to her phone that she didn't even notice she was in someone else's path.

she quickly turned around.
"i-i am so, so sorry, i should really be more mindful-"

she looked up at the person who had bumped into her.

he had white hair.
where had she heard something about a white haired boy before?

she felt a strange sense of wariness.
for now, at least, she decided to act polite, but keep her guard up.

"i- well. it's okay," the boy muttered. "i get it. i should have just walked around you."

this made angie even more suspicious.
he could have walked around her... but chose to run into her, seemingly?

"sure. i choose to run into people awkwardly in movie theatres too," angie joked.
she then turned to leave, but the boy put his hand on her shoulder.

"i'm sorry for touching you. i know, it's rude. but... i was wondering... can i see your phone for a second?," the boy asked, his voice oddly stern.

at this point, the two were the only ones left in the theatre- though the footsteps of the janitor coming to clean up could be heard outside.

angie took a big step forward to escape the boy's grasp.
"nuh-uh. sorry, dude, but i wouldn't even let my best friend see my phone. or my parents. or jesus. or whatever you may believe in. understand?"

"i just wanted to, um, to add you to a group chat for fans of the movie we just watched!," the suspicious boy lied.

angie sighed, not even turning to face him.
"oh really?? what movie did we just watch then, eh?"

"the sequel to the monster high reboot movie that nobody liked?," the boy guessed.

angie glanced back at him.
"wrong. we just watched the eight hundred and fourth Fast & Furious movie. which you would have known if you paid attention! but clearly you were preoccupied by something. and that something... was not vin diesel."

the boy stepped toward her, reaching for her phone.
"gimme that already! fuck vin diesel!"

angie gasped dramatically.
"you dare?! he's the heavenly god of livestreaming!," she shouted sarcastically, dashing out of the cinema.

the boy followed, chasing her out of the building and into the parking lot outside.

angie kept running.
she ran through the parking lot, and jaywalked across the street just to get away from this boy.
this white haired boy she had been warned about.

and the boy just kept following right behind.

angie was losing steam- she was barely able to breathe at this point.
damn her bad PE grades!

she stopped running, panting heavily.

"give me the goddamn phone!," the boy yelled. "this is a threat!"

"why do you even need it?," she demanded.

"...i don't need it. V3 needs it. hand it over, or you'll have a lot worse coming for you. alright?"

angie smiled, continuing to pant loudly.
"you want it?"

she threw her phone against the ground, the screen cracking on the concrete.
she then stepped on it, digging her heels into the phone's screen.

"there you go. you'd better pray it still turns on."

the boy looked appalled before slowly removing the beaten up phone from the ground.

he then ran away.

. . .

tsumugi had been laying down on her bed, listening to music and painting her nails whilst scrolling through the group chat.

she knew everything.
she knew about that red tortoise.
and, as the leader of V3, she had to do something about it.

since tsumugi knew gonta was planning out the red tortoise, she made a list of people who she thought he would likely involve, and tasked her loyal worker bee Keebo to get the suspect's phones.

that way, tsumugi would have access to the red tortoise, and would be able to completely wreck gonta's plans- and the others would be none the wiser.

just as tsumugi began to imagine what the red tortoise could be, she heard her doorbell ring.

she got off of her bed and answered the door.

there stood keebo, holding out angie's broken phone as if it were some kind of offering.

"i- i got it! she broke it! but i got it! can... can we fix it?," keebo rambled, talking quickly, "i'm sorry it's not in, like, the perfect-est shape! i tried! she totally ambushed me! and-"

tsumugi, being careful to not ruin her manicure, lifted up a piece of the phone.
she began inspecting it.
"looks like most of it is broken. however... the important stuff inside looks fairly intact! the motherboard, the fatherboard- all that stuff- looks okay! we can probably fix it..."

keebo smiled, his worry fading away. "excellent!"

tsumugi nodded. "indeed! now, uh. one more thing. after we get this bad boy repaired... do you know her password? like, when you were at the theatre- did you see her unlocking her phone?"

keebo's worry quickly returned.
"..fuck."
