the two kept running until they reached the kid's section.
they had bought themselves some time, so tenko decided to look around for a place to hide.
bingo- there was a display containing two twin-sized children's beds that were conveniently placed next to each other.
tenko ran over to the beds and gently pushed the somewhat injured ryoma underneath them. she ran around to the other side of the display and joined him underneath the beds.
that's when v3 caught up with them.
"this was supposed to be an ikea-and-chill plotting trip!," the woman yelled. "i didn't know this would turn into a full on chase! this was supposed to be my break after the shuichi thing, ya know?"
keebo sighed. "i feel ya, kotoko. did the boss lady say she'd be here?"
"yeah. she texted us last minute cancelling the plan since, well, the person she actually wanted to target next wasn't going to be here. if only those idiot kids didn't freak out over the shuichi ordeal," kotoko muttered. "she was gonna meet 'taro here to remove the target, but no. the target is being an ass. and so she said, "ooh, utsugi, wouldnt ikea be a sweet place to plot?" ugh."
"well now look at us!," keebo snapped. "we gotta finish this up before, ya know, more people show up at this goddamn ikea."
kotoko nodded. "precisely. Now where are those teenagers..."
the pair wandered around the kid's section for a minute before shrugging and deciding to move on.
as they left the kid's section, tenko rolled out from underneath the bed. she grabbed ryoma and picked him up.
she looked around.
an emergency exit. perfect.
she dashed towards the emergency exit, ryoma in her arms.
she was so close, she reached out to grab the doorhandle, when, suddenly-
she had knocked over a display of various paints.
keebo and kotoko turned around. they saw tenko, and ran after her.
tenko, with ryoma's help, swung the door open. the two students ran through the door, the two villains hot on their trail.
beyond the emergency exit was a set of stairs that wound downward.
tenko had no idea where they led, but she ran down them as fast as she could.
"you can put me down so that you can run faster," ryoma assured.
"no way!," tenko protested. "for one, you have itty bitty legs, so you wouldn't be able to make it, and two, you're injured!"
"it isn't that bad, besides, i can run fast!," ryoma assured once more.
tenko shook her head. "i'm not gonna put you down!"
suddenly, kotoko's arms reached out, and her hands wrapped around tenko's face.
"keebo!," kotoko demanded.
