you're probably wondering what in the ever-loving hell v3 is doing with these minors.

well then.

let's take a look.

. . . . . .

ryoma rubbed his head as he slowly sat up.

tenko and korekiyo were sitting next to him, concerned expressions on both of their faces.

"oh thank goodness!," tenko cheered. "you're alive!"

ryoma smiled at her. "yeah. and hey there, korekiyo."

korekiyo nodded. "hiya."

"is shuichi here?," ryoma asked.

"yeah. hes in the corner throwing a fit," tenko remarked.

ryoma looked around. the group of teenagers was contained in a big metal room. the only light was from the LEDs above their heads. there was also a gigantic, industrial-looking door.

speaking of the door, it slowly swung open, and in stepped a blue haired man.

he was carrying a few clipboards and a cup full of pencils.

"all right, you idiots. listen up. our organization has decided to tell you what's goin on," the man announced.
"First of all, my name is nagisa. i'll come into your cell pretty frequently, since i'm the dude that the organization assigned to feed you and run tests on you and stuff. now you're probably wondering what we do. well, does anyone here know how roman numerals work?"

shuichi, from the corner he was moping in, raised his hand.

"what does a v stand for when youre working with roman numerals?," nagisa asked.

"a five," shuichi replied.

Nagisa smiled. "good, a kid with brain cells. yes, it's a 5. v3 really means 53. our organization was established to revive an old reality TV show that was cancelled due to getting in a few too many lawsuits. it ended on the 52nd season, therefore making our reboot the 53rd."

"are you talking about danganronpa?," shuichi asked, a smile now spreading across his face. "are we gonna act in danganronpa?"

nagisa nodded. "i was right, you are a smart kid! you will be in danganronpa. however.. you won't exactly be acting."

shuichi's smile fell. "what?"

"as i said- it's a reality show. which means it's, well, reality. we will erase any memories you have right now, replace them with new ones, and put you into a 100% genuine killing game," nagisa explained, "so if you die, you die for reals."

there was a moment of silence.

"well then, now that the stuff i've said has had time to settle in, i need you each to take one of these clipboards and a pencil. we were supposed to do this when we kidnapped every last one of our targets, but i was bored," nagisa told the teenagers.

one by one, they walked up to him and took a clipboard and pencil.

except shuichi.

shuichi stayed in the corner of the room.

nagisa turned his head and called, "kotoko, how do you lure the kids out from corners again? do you, like, do you offer them a treat? are they, like, cats or some shit?"

he turned back to look at shuichi.
"what happened to you anyway? you were super enthusiastic just a second ago."

shuichi sighed loudly. "you know, i loved danganronpa. but now i don't think i do. because people are fucking dying. and that is fucking awful."

"well too bad, kid, you have to fill out the quiz that we have printed on this paper for your convenience," nagisa yelled.

shuichi sadly walked over to nagisa, snatched the clipboard out of his hands, and took the final pencil out of the pencil cup before returning to his corner.

"what is this quiz for, anyway?," korekiyo wondered allowed.

tenko nodded in agreement, tapping her pencil against her clipboard. "Yeah! is it like a buzzfeed quiz? will we find out when we'll meet our soulmates based on how we would build a cafe or something?"

"no, it's to figure out what role you'll play in our killing game," nagisa snapped. "now fill out the damn sheets."

tenko giggled and began to write.

"why the fuck are you laughing?," shuichi demanded. "you're gonna die."

tenko continued to giggle. "i know, but, like, it's only one page that's double-sided. and besides, these questions are so silly! 'what fictional world would you want to live in and why?' how goofy!!"

ryoma's eyes widened. "They're really that stupid?" he examined his paper to check.

sure enough, all of the questions were seemingly this meaningless.

"what fictional world would you want to live in, and why?"
"what is your least favorite color?"
"what religion would you be least likely to convert to, and why?"
"is your favorite song written by the artist who sings it, or did someone else write it for them?"

"how are these going to give us roles in a killing game?," shuichi asked, clearly skeptical.

"we do not question the mastermind's methods," nagisa lectured. "that's rule number 1."

he turned his back to the kids.

"i expect these to be finished in no less than 2 hours. put utmost thought into your answers; spare us no detail."

and with that, nagisa was gone.
