Norman and Kurt returned to Theodore. He noticed very quickly they were alone and that Kurt had been injured. He looked from them to the house silently. He wasn't really angry at them he was annoyed with the group in the house and the fact they haven't ben dealt with yet. How were they able to still be standing?"

"We weren't able to capture that new guy," Norman reported.

"I see that," Theodore responded back. "They've once again been a step ahead of us."

"How the hell are they doing that?" Kurt cursed. "How are they able to beat us like this?"

"I don't know but I'd like to find out," Theodore mused glaring at the house. "The sun will eventually be up. Even though this place is isolated we need to get them dealt with quickly. Someone may come here to check on them again like this new guy did. Kurt how did you get hurt?"

"The new guy was armed with a pocket knife. He stabbed me when Norman and I tried to get him."

"Do you want me to try to break the cellar doors open and regain access to the basement?" Norman asked his father figure.

"No. They might hear it. I will have you try the doors again to see if whatever they did to keep them closed has weakened and they can be opened."

Norman nodded. Little did they know they were being watched from the front porch. They couldn't see ghosts so they couldn't see Orochi, the only spirit who could wander around freely right now watching them from the front porch. He knew he had to report to the living group so they could release the cellar doors and catch whoever goes into the basement.

Clio laid down on the couch as he and his friends continued to try to figure out the timeline of when the ghosts had died. Clio was trying hard to not fall asleep but he was tired. Jin turned his attention to him and spoke in a calm voice.

"You should rest Clio. You used up a lot more energy then the rest of us. We can figure out the timeline of the deaths while you sleep then let you know what we learn when you wake."

"I'm fine now Jin. Really. I am. I want to help figure out the timeline. We still need to come up with a way to catch these guys and get Free's phone back so we can call the police and get them dealt with. I can't just fall asleep and let you guys do all that yourselves," Clio argued.

"Alright but don't push yourself," Jin relented allowing Clio to sit up."

"When should we untie the rope from the cellar doors?" Fubuki asked quietly as Jin turned his attention to a spot off to his left from where he was sitting.

"Right now," he urged. "Orochi says he was watching the trio outside. Norman is on his way to the cellar doors right now. We can be down there waiting for him to report back to his partners the doors can be accessed again and see who comes down."

Free jumped up and ran down into the basement. The door had been left unlocked since the cellar doors could no longer be opened. The others followed after him just as quickly with Suoh quickly grabbing the tree branch from the floor near the backdoor where he'd left it. Free got to the cellar doors first. He listen to see if he could hear anyone on the other side. He heard nothing. Had Norman already come to check and report back? He hoped not. He untied the rope from the doors and unlocked them.
