"Stay here." The Doctor instructed. Scarlet's mouth dropped open.
"I'll stay here when I'm dead." She argued.
"I don't want you to die, dearest, therefor I need you to stay here." Something made Scarlet reach for him, press her lips to his firmly.
Her hand tightened on his arm for a moment before he wrapped her in a tight hug.
"I'll be right back, love." And he left.
"You know, you cannot just catch me up in your technology and whisk me away." The Doctor exited the TARDIS with deliberate care to make sure the Daleks were unaware of Scarlet, who was angrily watching the scene unfold in front of her on the TARDIS's screen.
"The Doctor will bow." A Dalek insisted.
"The Doctor will not." He argued.
Scarlet couldn't remember what happened in the next moment. She watched as the Dalek that was raised on a pedestal shot the Doctor square in the chest.
That was his last regeneration.
Scarlet screamed, running for the wooden doors. The TARDIS had a different idea, however.
She heard the engines groan and take off, leaving her hanging out the door in deep space.
She screamed in physical pain, her chest closing and her eyesight narrowing. Her lungs gasped for air but she felt like she was drowning.
"Take me back!" She screamed to the TARDIS. "Take me back to him!"
The ship was silent, not moving as she spun dials and twisted levers.
Scarlett's throat was bleeding and numb, a gaping hole left in her chest.
Her soul mate was dead.
Oh, how the Daleks were going to pay for this one.
They took her world, her home, her family, her enemies, her entire race. She could live with that.
But now they've taken her soul mate.
She could not live with that one.
Infinite regenerations or not, she was going to die avenging the love of her life.
