Lloyd's POV
I hadn't even slept a blink. With my thoughts racing, how was even expected to have a soundless, calm, and serene sleep? Man, I can't even remember the last time I had one of those...
I sat up from my bed, feeling groggy and filled with fatigue. I rubbed my eyes as they adjusted to the sunlight shining from my cabin window. My thoughts once again rushed back to me as I tried to formulate a plan for today—we had to figure a way out...or we'll just be sitting ducks out here!
I groaned, rubbing my face with my palm. That's when I heard the knock on my halfway-opened doorway.
And then, bright and early morning, I see Kane's highly irritating face pop out from outside like a little kid. I scoffed.
"Good Morning Lloyd!", he greeted very cheerfully for my liking—it sounded suspicious," How was your sleep?"
I narrowed my eyes at him as I got up, stretching," The usual—now—what do you want?"
Kane raised his eyebrows," Okay then—not rude at all but...You're requested to join your friends at the banquet hall for breakfast—a nice quiet breakfast—with me and Kira just laying around for...ya know—monitoring purposes." He grinned, his blue eyes sparkling. Creepy.
But this only made my suspicion rise even higher. Why were they treating us more as guests than—prisoners of their ship?
I furrowed my brow and gazed at Kane for a moment until I sighed.
"I don't really have a choice do I?", I asked, grimacing.
Kane smirked. I sighed, following him out of the cabin and towards the deck of the ship. There, the sun shone even brighter, and I had to squint my eyes from the sudden hit of light. The waves were glittering as they crashed and tumbled, the sea breeze wafting around me in a strong aura.
And then— I saw my friends.
My heart jumped in excitement.
"We'll be watching you and your friends' every move, Green Ninja—so don't take any chances."He warned me, his eyes on my lightened-up expression.
But only a part of me registered his warning, the other part of me acted without thought, and I rushed towards my friends, who were hanging around in a wide circle around each other.
Cole spotted me first, a wide grin flashing with his wide eyes.
"Well, look who decided to join the gang!" He teased, coming over towards me, and wrapping me in an earth-crushing hug (pun-intended).
The others all shouted my name in relief and excitement and other phrases like," We were so worried!", "What happened?" and "I THINK THEY HAVE A FREAKING GAMING ROOM NEAR MY CABIN!!!", the last line being clearly Jay.
"Im fine guys don't worry about me—"I stopped, noticing Harumi at the back, who was furiously fidgeting with her hands, and trying hard to avoid my gaze. Again—I seemed to have reacted without really thinking about it—but I almost ran towards her, taking her hands in mine, she looked up in shock.
"Are you okay?", I asked in a rush of words," I was really worried—I didn't know what to do—I tried to come up with a plan to try and help you but then I don't know I think it was the lack of sleep I had but that doesn't excuse myself of not being the responsible leader of the team and I told you that it was best to stay—"
Harumi hugged me, and my rushing words dissolved from my throat. I hugged her back, sighing as all the worry in me seemed to cease. Only a little.
She pulled away, studying me with earnest concern.
