Almost an hour and a half after I sat down on this sofa I heard someone moving next to me and when I looked over at Melanie I saw that she had just opened her beautiful eyes so I put down the magazines and went over to the hallway and asked an employee who was cleaning the hallway to call Nurse Melissa Mccall to this room as the patient had just woken up and I went back into the room.
- You're here!- exclaimed Melanie smiling.
- Did you really think I was going to leave you alone? No way! You don't even know how scared I was... I thought I'd never see you again, Mel.
- It was just a scare. What matters is that I'm fine and when I get out of here we can go back to our life in Liverpool. I mean, after we defeat Monroe and Gerard!
- Don't even think you're going to participate in this war anymore. As soon as the doctor discharges you, you will return to Liverpool. I'll stay here to help the pack, but you go home where you'll be safe.
- Did you hit your head? Do you really think I'm going to leave you guys fighting those freaks without me? No way! I'll stay here with you and our friends and together we'll beat Monroe and the old man and then, when everything's back to normal, we'll go back to Liverpool.
- Sometimes you can be really stubborn, you know that?
- I knew, but stubbornness is another one of my charms.- Melanie said smiling.
"So how's my patient doing?" asked Dr. Geyer as soon as he arrived at Melanie's room, accompanied by Melissa.
- I'm fine, with a little pain, but alive... thanks to you, Dr. Geyer.
- Come on, I just did my job. Now let's do some quick tests to see if everything is ok.- said Dr. Geyer, bringing a wheelchair to take Melanie for her exams.
- You wouldn't leave here, did you hear?!
- I wasn't thinking of doing that.- I stated smiling.
Once they left with Melanie, I took advantage of this alone time to let our friends know that she was finally awake and whenever they wanted they could come visit her. Fifteen minutes after I warned them, they were all inside the room waiting for Melanie to return from her exams, which happened ten minutes later.
- Well, you're having a party and you don't invite your girlfriend? As far as I know, this is still my room. - Melanie said as soon as she entered the room, accompanied by Melissa, who was pushing the wheelchair.
- Scott, do you think you can help me get Melanie back to bed? - asked Melissa looking at her son who just nodded. - I'll be back in a little while with something to eat. And boys and girls, please don't stress her out too much, she's still recovering.
"You gave us a scare," Malia said.
- I'm glad to see you all here.- Melanie said smiling as she looked at our friends.
- How are you? Are you in a lot of pain?" Stiles asked, sitting on a plastic chair next to the bed.
- A little, but I'm still on the effect of the drugs, so it's bearable. Ah, my parents... did they... manage to survive? I can see from your faces that the answer is no!- exclaimed Melanie, letting a few tears fall down her face.
"We're sorry," Derek said.
- I know you had to do it, Peter and I don't blame you for that.- Melanie said looking at Peter who showed her a smile.- Don't get me wrong, I still think you're a bit villainous, but this time this death was not your fault.
- We know that although they were on Gerard's side, they were still your parents and I know how much it costs to lose a father or mother.- said Stiles.
