A week later...
POV MELANIE:
The day had finally arrived when I was going to leave this hospital. This morning, Liam's father told me that my wounds were healing well, although I still had to be very careful as the stitches might burst, but otherwise I could go home. As Isaac during this week had already brought me some of my clothes, I took advantage of the time I was waiting for him to go to the bathroom at the end of the corridor and I went to change my clothes.
When I got back to my room, Stiles was there, accompanied by a wheelchair. At this moment I was quite confused because I always thought that whoever came to pick me up was my boyfriend.
- What are you doing here? And what is it for?
- This is hospital policy... I also thought it was a bit absurd, but Melissa insisted and answering your other question, I came to pick you up to take you home. And before that little head starts with negative ideas, nothing happened to your boyfriend, I asked him if I could be the one to come.
- Oh, my big, little bro missed me?- I asked giving him a little hug and sat in the wheelchair.
- Maybe I did... Maybe I didn't...- said Stiles smiling as he pushed the wheelchair.
- Is there more news about Monroe yet? Or from Gerard?
- Still nothing... Scott and Derek are hitting ground in Beacon Hills and nearby towns, but so far no lead has taken them very far, but we're not giving up. However, while we don't have leads, you can use this time to recover.
After he helped me into the passenger seat, he carried the wheelchair into the hospital and got into the jeep. I noticed that the first thing Stiles did as soon as he sat down was not start the jeep but send a message to Scott and only then did we start on our way to my house. Once we arrived, Stiles turned off the Jeep and got out to help me out of the car.
- Stiles, as much as I appreciate your help, I can perfectly get out of the jeep alone.
- I know you can, but I'll help you. So shut that pretty mouth of yours and hold on to me.
- Yes sir.- I said laughing, to which Stiles replied with a smile.
As we walked through the garden until we reached the front door, the memories I had of my parents began to invade my head and instinctively, tears began to fall.
"Melanie, is everything okay?" Stiles asked, noticing that I was crying.
- Yes, this house is full of memories... good and bad. This house belonged to my parents and we've lived here our whole lives.
- I know what it's like to lose a father or a mother and I know it's not easy, but believe that time helps heal the wound you have inside.- said Stiles, pointing to my heart.- And you know I'm here for whatever you need, right?
- I know you do.- I said smiling.
Stiles took my house keys out of his coat pocket and opened the front door and as soon as we stepped inside the house, our friends rushed towards us squealing in surprise. The tears that previously were falling down my face had ended and at this moment I could only smile when I saw what was happening in front of me.
- Welcome home, my love.- said Isaac giving me a hug.
- Is that why you didn't come get me?
- We wanted to surprise you.- Scott said this time, advancing towards me and wrapping me in his arms.
- And how are you, Mel? Are you still in a lot of pain?" asked Lydia.
- No pain, just some discomfort because of the bandages and stitches, but other than that I'm fine. Now I just need to rest for a few days and hope my wounds continue to heal. But in two weeks I'll have the stitches removed.
